Hello Everyone,
in this video, we are discussing about Classification of Human Nervous System.
Nervous System is divided into 2 parts
1. Central Nervous System - Comprises of Brain and Spinal Cord
2. Peripheral Nervous System - Comprises of Nerves.
The CNS is so named because the brain integrates the received information and coordinates and influences the activity of all parts of the body.
Peripheral Nervous System - is the division of nervous system that lie outside of CNS. peripheral nervous system is made up of the Somatic and the Autonomic nervous systems.
Primary Role is to connect the CNS to organs, Limbs and Skin.
Somatic NS are responsible for carrying sensory and motor information to and from the CNS. the name is derived from the greek word SOMA which means BODY.
One which carry information to the CNS are sensory afferent nerves (Sensory Neurons) and one which carry information from the CNS to terminal parts of the body is called motor efferent nerves (Motor Neurons)
Autonomic Nervous System are responsible for regulating involuntary body function such as blood flow, Heart beat, Digestion and Breathing.
this System is further divided into 2 parts.
1. Parasympathetic System - Helps maintain normal body function and conserve physical resources.
2. Sympathetic System - Regulating flight or fight response. respond to the environmental threat. The Sympathetic System triggers a response by accelerating heart rate, increasing breathing rate, boosting blood flow to muscles and activating sweat secretion and dilating the pupils.
