It hadn't occurred to me before that Mass Fusion was still providing power to the surrounding settlements like Goodneighbour and Diamond City. It was a real missed opportunity that Betheseda didn't show the ramifications of taking the Agitator away to really drive home the fact that the Institute and BoS were making the common Wastelander's lives that much more miserable for their own gain.

True, I feel like the BOS and Institute are in it for their own aims. Minutemen are trying to do whats right but lacks direction and the RR have decent morals, wouldnt go so far on putting synth lives above humans but they just send them off to the capital wastes, i see it as letting a child into the wilderness and telling them to fend for themselves.

​@@reaverfang377There's a couple mods out there that do expand on various end game choices, lending more variety to how the faction "war" plays out. From what I've played of them, most tend to back-load most of the choices/expansions to basically this particular point of no return and after. I'd love to see, in relation to your idea, an expansion of the quests and choices leading up to the end-game that flows a little more naturally and weaves the narrative in as opposed to ham fisting at the end. I get it though, that's a lot of work, editing the main quest line, making your own additions, accounting for the freeform way the quests can be tackled, all while not breaking anything 😂. Let alone having the writing chops to make your content at least meet the quality and style of the vanilla so it doesn't seem out of place.

@@Steel-101 It's very good tho. The best weapon for me however, is explosive shotgun. whatever. I just use a mod that allows me to salvage legendary effects and transfer it to another weapon. So i put UP77's Never ending effect to a gatling laser and just shoot randomly like an enclave heavy soldier

Though the voice acting on the holotapes is usually done well, it occurs to me the awkwardness of the pacing of it. Rarely do voices or sound effects overlap each other. Realistically, people do talk over each other instead of politely letting someone finish their sentence before "interrupting". It's not really interrupting the other person if they stopped talking before you started. Just acts as a reminder it's a performance and not an actual recording of events.

Probably the logistics of it, voice actors record their stuff separately at home studio or whatever, and then audio people splice together, so the actors aren't able to actually organically respond to something in a convo

To be fair to the Institute here, they actively wasn't going to use the Beryllium Agitator until a army of techno cultist came flying in with the sole purpose of destroying them. Not that the surface actually seems to be using it/the grind. None of our settlements are getting power from it while Vault 81 and Diamond city each has it's own reactors, so that really just leaves Goodneighbor who doesn't seem to be affected either.

52:38 Dr. Filmore doesn’t say that the Beryllium Agitator is beyond the Institute’s capabilities to replicate, only that their timetable was rushed by the activity of other factions. The Institute had cracked the manufacturing of literal human beings, and the Institute’s reactor is way more advanced than the one at Mass Fusion. I’ve no doubt that the Institute could have easily created their own, if only they were not operating on borrowed time.

If I remember correctly from all of my play throughs of Fallout 4 since the day it was released there was a bobblehead in the mass fusion office. It's sitting on top of one of those monolithic heads overlooking the atrium. I don't think you picked it up you got the magazine but not the bobblehead. I don't think it shows up with a map marker and it's in a real tricky spot to try and get

the institute could have made it, it's just they are pushed for time because the BOS. They even say that, "we are going to need to take a shortcut, and get a piece of old pre-war technology". So if the BOS wasn't after them and they had more time. The institute wouldn't need that part.

I actually just got the free fall legs by grabbing a trash can and then pressing myself between it and the wall, allowing me to fly up to the top floor into the hole in the wall. No cheats or jet pack needed.

I want to give the DnD folks some slack. It feels like, for the most part, the reactor seemed pretty safe and stable, though Im no nuclear engineer. If they just had to keep an eye on systems that stay pretty stable, then they could have had plenty of free time.

Mass Fusion was the point of the 2nd game breaking bug I had playing FO4. The first was after killing Kellogg cornflakes. Because I went out the 1st floor EXIT door, and not the elevator to the roof, the game didn't trigger the Prydwyn flying into the Commonwealth, locking me out from BoS quests until I went back into the base and actually took the elevator up to trigger the cutscene. (GJ Todd Coward.) The Mass Fusion glitch occurred when I was supposed to take the Institute relay to the roof of the building. Despite the quest marker saying JUST DO IT!, the teleport didn't trigger. EVER. So I had to noclip and airwalk my way up to the roof of Mass Fusion to jury-rig the quest into starting. (Double GJ Todd Coward).

Late viewing this (I was active in the quest, so didn't want to know too much). Dealing with Knights is much easier with a gauss gun. Usually two or three rounds will make them goo. Mine is plasma infused, and I didn't die once (in survival level) taking them out. FYI.

Go back to mass fusion. Grab a trashcan on the floor prop it under your feet backing up against walls with trashcan below your feet will allows you to scale the walls up to the freefall armor without power armor.

I think Kathy has outside connections when Denvers has been on this project for 3 years. Something that could produce graphene at an accelerated pace, because it took her a week to produce it. Considering reality, and the fact that we're theorizing and prototyping graphene production for fusion reactors, this universe apparently has a manufacturing facility dedicated to graphene production, but apparently Mass Fusion doesn't know about it. In fact, I'm surprised that Mass Fusion even has schematics for a fusion reactor. I'm wondering if Ozlow stole schematics from Poseidon Energy? Perhaps Kathy is a Poseidon Energy plant meant to keep tabs on Ozlow, and the military found out about it. This is all conjecture on my part, but I highly doubt that Mass Fusion is smart enough to actually implement a fusion reactor considering their "customer service." They don't fully understand how their fusion cores work, and if I remember correctly, they're basically micro-fusion cells compacted into one unit of fusion core. To suddenly have a fully functional fusion reactor is suspect at-best.

Missiles are fun in this game, especially quad-barrel homing ones. The difference between you selling merch and a big corporation selling merch is, you selling them to *fans* with the *option* for employees to get some for themselves. I dunno if you have employees, but it sounds like Mass Fusion's store was *only* for employees. A bit too narcisstistic for my taste. I strikes me X6-88 could be refering to hiumself as the tech that's superior to the beryllium agitator, but I can't dispute that the Institute is arrogant. Allie's wearing a suit that helps keep out rads - that's remarkably well-reserved despite the bullet-hell you just got out of, by the way - and she sends *you* in to get the thing? What's the point of her suit then? Suppose it keeps out bacteria and other surface-dwelling that could copmpromise her no-doudt crappy immune system. Do we even need her for this mission?

Is anyone else annoyed how calm and collected Allie Filmore is? I mean, she's a high-ranking institute egghead and yet operates like a hardened combat veteran. Bethesda could've made this quest so much better if you had to protect her to get to the reactor or something, but she just becomes another boring NPC. Supposedly she's totally unfamiliar with surface life but nothing seems to faze her.

Not quite true; Hell, even in this game, you can actually get the Brotherhood, Railroad, and Minutemen to team up against the Institute, and the Minutemen themselves are alright with working with the Railroad due to shared ideals. Besides, considering the Brotherhood of Steel's sheer ego, they would have destroyed the Institute anyways just to intimidate the rest of the Commonwealth. You could also bring up the Responders and Charleston's government from Fallout 76, who regularly worked together in the years after the bombs dropped when the threat of the Scorchbeasts was not yet apparent.
