hi! i've gotten into making earrings lately but was wondering at what temp and how long you bake yours?are they flexible after you bake them? thanks!
@kolbiclaborn4 жыл бұрын
Hi Toni! I used Sculpey Souffle and the directions on the package say to bake them at at 275° F (130° C) for 30 minutes at 1/4in thick. But your polymer clay will come with baking instructions on the package.They aren't flexible and will break if you try to bend them too much. I hope this is helpful!

What about sanding earnings after baking? You dun need it or you dun recommend!

Sculpey III is a very brittle clay which breaks very easily especially if handled roughly or accidentally dropped on a hard surface, (see one of Katie Gordon’s video’s where she demonstrates this). Premo! Sculpey is much better for making this type of clay jewellery. I used to use this as it was the only clay in any colours I could get. I’m still using my left overs but mixing with Premo! clay. Hope you don’t get offended at this, Im just relaying my own experiences.

Where did you get your hardware? Did it come in that lil set or did you buy that just to store your pieces?? Thanks in advance!!! 😭😭

I bought mine at Michael’s then bought the box to store them. But they do have some small kits with various pieces in them.

How thick should earrings be? Jump rings don’t hang right if the earrings are too thick
@kolbiclaborn4 жыл бұрын
Great question! I played around with this until I found the best thickness for me. Mine are ~1/8in thick and work great with the size of jump rings I am using.

I have tried using 2 different kinds of super glue and nothing seems to work to keep my posts attached to the back. Any tips?
@kolbiclaborn4 жыл бұрын
Samantha A I am so sorry to hear that! I haven’t had any issues with E6000. Have you tried that? I apply more than I need to on the post and then once I press it to the earring, I scrape off the excess with a toothpick so it has a clean finish.
@asbury124 жыл бұрын
@@kolbiclaborn I have the e6000 Industrial Strength glue. How long do you let it set? Maybe I am not giving it enough time to dry before testing it out.
@kolbiclaborn4 жыл бұрын
Samantha A I typically let it rest a full 48 hours. It’s so tempting to check it early, but the longer it sets, the better!

I like this tutorial because it works and lasts longer, which is ideal especially if you’re selling the earrings. No glue necessary kzbin.info/www/bejne/b6i6ZWRrfJZmrqc
