Clayton "Clay" Guida (/ˈɡwiːdə/; born December 8, 1981) is an American professional mixed martial artist, currently signed to the UFC competing in the Lightweight division. A professional competitor since 2003, Guida also formerly competed for Strikeforce, the WEC, King of the Cage, and Shooto. Guida was the inaugural Strikeforce Lightweight Champion. He holds notable victories over Josh Thomson, Nate Diaz, Rafael Dos Anjos, Takanori Gomi and Anthony Pettis.

A rare fighter who actually seems to get stronger when he is hurt. This little dude is an animal. Think how frustrating it must be to his opponents when they hit him with their very best, and he comes back at them even stronger. I love watching this guy fight. You know it isn't going to be a strategic chess match. He's gonna fight!

Guida did have a way with threatening with take downs but then would throw a kick at the end of the combo instead of a double leg.. the same with setting up a lead upper cut. he is willing to sacrifice himself to get in your zone and have options.. but it would be a chess match where he doesn't care about pawns.

That's an awesome story he actually got me back into it I watched in the early days but fell off around '99 my attention was fully in WWF as Tank Abbott left and I was a huge fan haha but flicking through channels circa 05'-07' saw UFC on spike & saw Clay Guida fight with such a warrior spirit it got me back into the sport that was what 15-16 years ago

Fun fact Clay and Jason babysat my brother and I when we were younger, because his family were close friends with mine. At one point I started training and was going to join the UFC because of clay. Hes a great dude and tremendous fighter. Makes me proud to know him honestly, his fights are genuinely very interesting
