Season 2 was even better than the first! It improved a lot on what made Season 1 good but also the origins storyline with caves and meeting Joe-El for the first time was so well done. Rosetta is classic beyond words! A beautiful passing of the cape moment. 👍🙂 R.I.P. Christopher Reeves 😢❤️❤️❤️

I agree. And it's always at the worst possible times for him! But the change that comes over him, Tom Welling was always so good at that. Plus it's scary because he's basically unstoppable.

By introducing Dr. Virgil Swann in this season, it also brings forth the long- running The Veritas theme throughout the seasons. Season 4 is heavily involved with more of that by introducing a family of the next member of the group and as well as in later seasons too. And as I said before this season is a doorstep away. So this season starts to broaden the horizon a little at a time. Total epic!

Man, I started watching this show when it first aired on ABC Family back in 2001. I was like 7 I think😂. And I was addicted. I pre ordered every season on DVD like 6 months in advance, I dressed and acted like Clark all the time 😂 still kinda do. I more or less, as weird as this sounds, modeled my life and attitude after Clark from that show. But with that, I really think it helped me a lot in my Christian walk. And I love the fact that you reviewed this show from a Christian perspective with Bible stories and verses and what not. Cause that’s just about exactly what I’ve done with it. I still start it over periodically and rewatch the whole show from time to time. It never gets old! But especially now that I’ve watched your reviews, I’m seeing things that I didn’t originally see. And I enjoy it that much more!

What is up my dude Durban...you promised Epic and you delivered! Kicking things off with Vortex! Lineage is a great episode, I like how this is actually the first meeting of Clark and Lex as children...The episode Ryan is still touching and heartbreaking..SkinWalkers and the caves awesome... Insurgence and that leap in a single bound...I could do an Essay on Rosetta alone but Fan Freaking Tastic Legend(wait for it)Dary...Finally the Finale is great on all fronts..the final shot of Clark alone on his motorcycle riding away! Side note similarly to Buffy season 2 when she runs away too also one of the best seasons of that show..Whrn you run out Smallville..Buffy and Angel are an idea ;) Sorry so long..2 thumbs up..looking forward to season 3 and beyond!

Not that Lionel was a dummy before but he starts getting smarter in season 2. Also, the og Lois & Superman (Margot Kidder & the late Christopher Reeve) show up in this season.

Def in my top 3 as well, I appreciate the writers so much more now because I see the character arc Clark was on much more clearly. Was frustrating seeing him fight so hard against his lineage and almost every decision he made was guided by fear but it’s all a part of his greater journey to embrace his destiny. We were so spoiled by this show! I miss it
@ChrisDurban3 жыл бұрын
I miss it too! Such a great show. And this season did a great job having us sympathize with Clark and as the show moves forward we get the Kryptonian side, and watch Clark embrace his humanity and Kryptonian side. So good!

My top 3 favorite Seasons of Smallville is Season 2, Season 4 and Season 5, I love the episodes when Clark is on Red Kryptonite it's so badass seeing Clark as Kal his evil Red Kryptonite self, i mean regular Clark is great but seeing him as Kal is so entertaining and funny as hell too, seriously i forgot how many great episodes were in Season 2

Such a awesome season. Not as nostalgic for me as season 1 but this season just takes things up a notch with how much more of a variety this season offers. I feel like this season does so much more than what season 1 did with showing us how a teen got their powers and then setting them on collision course with Clark by the kids going crazy. Not that that's a bad thing I absolutely love that In season 1 but this season felt much more creative. Like with Red one of my favorite episodes in the whole show where we see for the first time a bad Clark. But he's not Bizarro bad who goes around killing people. This Kryptonite just shows us a different side of Clark which is fun to see cause he's not holding back with Lana anymore. Other favorite episodes of mine from this season are the poetry one I forgot what it's called, the one where the lady is sucking the youth from teenage boys to stay young, the one where Whitney comes back. I have mixed feelings on that one. Whitney other than Jonathan may be the saddest death on the show for me. I never fail to tear up hearing Lana find out the news that Whitney died serving his country. But I also love Tina Greer the lady who turns into Whitney. Think about it how many meteor freaks in Smallville have made it past 1 episode. That is a great feat for me that she was able to do it and she got the jump on Clark. Rosetta is another favorite, the one where a high school baseball player and his friends start inhaling melted down meteor rocks is freaking awesome. They 100% overpowered Clark. I remember watching that and being like oh crap how is Clark gonna beat them, they're stronger than him and there's three of them. But then we get the advice from Jonathan which I love where he tells Clark they have your strength but they don't have any of your other abilities. Then Clark utilizes those other abilities. I also love the finale. It's not as good to me now as the season 1 cliffhanger but it's still fantastic.

I really did enjoy season 2. Mostly because I saw it in similar ways. Though a few things did not dawn on my hot headed teenage self at the time. Age probably cooled and focused it.

A lot of episodes in this season made feel sorry for Clarke Kent the season final the last two episodes where he decides to let the red Kryptonite change him and leave

Yeah, season 2 was a tough year for Clark. Especially how season 2 ended. But overall very epic.

My top 3 favorite Smallville seasons are 1. Season 6 for sure. This season is absolutely epic. The phantom zone escapees all came within inches of killing Clark that tells me those are some top notch villains right there. I love so much that final shot of the season, Bizarro flying towards the camera and seeing the cracking in his face to show you it's Bizarro if you had any hopes it was Clark. 2. Season 1. Most nostalgic season and the most grounded season I think. All about Clark and his friends and his family. And Clarks awesome parents teaching him how to fit into the world. 3. This ones tough cause 6 and 1 are definitely top two but I'm not sure what my third favorite is. I'll go with season 4. I like the whole senior year of high school feel and I really like Clarks girlfriend during this season Alicia I think her name was. Plus this is where Lex gives his last real attempt to be Clarks friend then in season 5 it sadly falls apart.

Cool theory about Jor-El wanting the Kent's to have a baby to replace Clark. Actually makes sense. However I think you're giving too much credit for the show always building to Veritas. That storyline was totally added last minute just to S7 and was out of left field. Especially since Lionel was always self motivated and opportunistic. He would've had no interest at all in the good of mankind. But the Lionel later in the show would've.
@ChrisDurban3 жыл бұрын
You make a solid point. I just see places where Veritas could work. I know full well they didn’t have it mind at all before season 7. There are places where the retcon works and some places where it breaks continuity. But Lionel’s close connection to the Kents and Clark’s adoption really do open the doors Lionel’s suspension.

It just would've been cool having Chloe know then. But it all worked out
@orlandobabe4 ай бұрын
They made Jor-El and all things Kryptonian bad worst evil. I hated that. If they wanted to create conflict or extensive drama for Clark then why not have him just go through what all adopted kids go through when their biological parents show up. The Kent’s become insecure and scared, Clark awkwardly gets to know his biological parents. And finding out that he would end up being Earth’s protector. He goes on a high helping people but some happens that drives him to guilty overload and takes off on Red-K drive etc. I really detested the indigenous cave bull. I detested Chloe from beginning to end. Martha should’ve stayed working for Lionel to keep tabs on him and maybe on Lex. I didn’t care for Martha getting pregnant.

@durbania you qualify since the beginning the relation between Lana and Clark like a drama? Why ? you sow hatred when you should remain neutral as you do with other characters. you say that Chloé was hurt when she didn't stop wanting to trick him to find out his secret, she even teamed up with Lionel. because she was jealous, it's not very Christian... how many times has Lana been hurt? and there you talk about it like a boring drama. you decided from the start that Lana would be your only enemy in this show and that's not right. we must remember that without Lana and Lex Smallville would not exist be more lenient in your words, you are spreading poison
