So sweet!!!!! I love your reviews. I wasn't familiar with this curriculum until you posted. I know everyone uses TGATB but I never had peace about using it. I've looked at it and it is pretty but I do like things that are steeped in Jesus and pointing out kids to him. 🥰

Thank you so much!! This has been so helpful. ❤️ I think I'll be switching my 1st grade so to this as TGTB is too fast and not enough practice. He's getting frustrated with how fast the lessons are and he isn't interested in the art projects, he'd much rather build with blocks or create outside.

I absolutely love all of your videos! Do you find that you need a bit more guidance as the teacher? Do the light units explain rules well to the kids? I am one who really appreciates scripted books for my kids. Sometimes it can be hard for me to know exactly how to explain things. So it can be so helpful to have something that I can just read to them.

I’ve been loving your content! Everything is so useful. Could you make a video on how you navigate a school year? I noticed both TGATB and CLE only have 120 lessons. I don’t have to meet a specific number of days but I also don’t want large gaps in between years but also worry about advancing too quickly if I start the next level. It’s a lot of time to fill. Any advice welcome. New to homeschool and I have a kindergartener. ❤️

I have CLE earning to read books 103 to 106. I wonder if it's worth it to buy 107 to 110 if I also buy the CLE Language arts 1, which starts during book 105.

It's faith based, so most of the stories have to do with God/building character. The math has a minimum amount. :)

Do you feel teacher guides are a must? Between LA, LTR and reading….that’s quite a bit plus all their teachers guides?

I bought both for the upcoming school year! I called CLE and they suggested doing both the Reading 1 and LA together. They are both very different. The Reading 1 will focus on the actual word growth and reading fluency and the Language Arts focuses on the phonetic skills, blends, sounds, punctuation, etc. Both are very gentle yet thorough. ❤️

Yes I saw that they suggest reading and LA but I thought first grade started with the Learning to Read program followed up with the LA and Reading? Did you do Learning to Read first or was your little guy already reading? I am just debating if Learning to Read, LA and Reading are too much for him.

@@sheenam8847 I'm not the person who made the video but I do know you start Learning to Read and then on a specific lesson you then add LA 1 . After you finish LTR then you add Reading 1. You won't be doing all 3 at the same time. You will, at a certain point, do one of the reading programs and the LA at the same time. If you go to their site you may be able to see the schedule they suggest. It also includes Math 1 and Bible on the schedule if you are doing that as well. The site is very well laid out I think. I just reread your comment and I'm not sure if anything I said was more than you knew hah.

It touches on some lightly, but it’s not strong. It’s overall a very gentle approach for the little years! ❤️

We are doing TGTB right now and my daughter hates all of fluff & stories and she gets so frustrated when I read it or when I take more time trying to skip through it.
