Removing my old hose was ##$-# nightmare. It was comepletely mummified at 154,000 on my 2015 honda civic. I did not notice that it wasnt even plastic anymore it was just hardened piece of dust. I had a hell of a time trying to tale it off the throttle body and remove the aluminum tube. Everything was just frozen caked on together. It completely fell apart once i touched it. Putting the new one on was a pain in the ass. I had to apply a lube to mating surfaces because it just would not slide on. Rubber hose sides kept catching. But now that its done and throttle is cleaned the car accelerates like it was new. I dont know how many miles i drove with that issue but glad its fixed.

Nice video 👍 FYI U shouldn't be taking off that negative cable like that. It actually has a fuse on it. Taking it off or putting it on like a normal cable could pop the fuse. U need to unplug it first before removing it from battery post 👍 Its a very expensive mistake many make 😬

Less than a year old. I followed the steps to clean the MAF sensor and throttle body, let it dry before putting it back in. And drove it about 50 miles over two days when the Christmas lights came on.

@ i didnt plug an ob2 in as didnt think there was any point as no codes the car has 99k on the clock and no major leaks anywhere

@ that is exactly why I asked. The check engine light comes when the error codes are more serious ones. You can still have error codes with no check engine light, that will hint you in the right direction to solve your issue. I know Autozone can hook up a simple OBD2 reader for free and tell you if there are any codes. That is your first step. For example, if you have a cracked air intake hose you may have s as P0171 code but no check engine light. Once battery is disconnected for 5-15 minutes, computer's memory gets cleared, which means when you next time turn on the car, the car will look for a good time to relearn the idle air on its own. The parameter to get the learning done is to get the engine to operating temperature and car to be stationary in park or neutral. The test runs for around 5 minutes, so if you happen to keep the car idle for 5 min, your car will run the idle relearn on its own in the background.
