Hi Sedge what is the part number of the 50mm anti static hose upgrade?

Excellent. I have cobbled together something similar using a WAP commercial vacuum, a dust separator and Rockler dust fittings making my own cart with casters. Works so well.

Very nice set up. I like the way it follows you around the shop like a faithful dog🤣. All that's really missing is the boom arm attachment, although that would make it much less mobile.

I love the metal floor sweep attachment in the 577259 cleaning set, it has little wheels that let you adjust the bristle height so it works on concrete or even carpet, it works great for carpeted stairs. Also I wish they would make a shorter D36 hose, specifically for the Kapex. Most of the time the extractor is right under the saw anyways, so a shorter hose is neater, has better airflow and costs less

I agree, it's a great tool.

Hey Sedge I keep all the various nozzles and brushes inside my cyclone and just leave the floor sweep permanently attached to the vac handle/tube leaning in a convenient corner. That way I don't need a systainer. My set came loose with my CT36 AC

Another great video, thanks Sedge! I have a newer model ct midi and a ct-va20 and this pairing works great for me. I am interested in checking out the improvements in the 50mm short hose, thanks for the tip, I have to admit though my set up is no slouch as it is. As with all my Festool tools, not one day did I ever regret buying either of these…and you can’t say that about many tools.

Interestingly we get the 50mm stubby hose as part of the cyclone kit here in Australia. Even has a right angle connector on one end to make it easier to hook into the vac. One question though, how do you install the waste bags into the cyclone so that it doesn’t cripple your extraction efficiency? When I go bag less it is high performance. When I put a bag in I get a lot of pressure drop. Bagless is fine for work with big chips like the planer or saws, but not so great for dusty work like track saws and sanding.

Thanks Sedge for the great review and your upgrades. I have the separator for my cleantec 48 and as you said it comes with the 27mm hose. I would like to upgrade to the 50 mm hose; my question is how difficult is it to remove the fitting that attaches to the hose that attaches to the separator and cut the hose to length and re-thread? The hose is expensive ($169) and I don’t want to screw it up. Thanks, Bill Mellon

Only speaking for myself but I use the CT midi (edit: newer model)with a CT-VA-20 here. Works great for me and everything connected up perfectly out of the box but definitely curious about upgrading the short hose to 50mm.

Good morning Sedge! Another great video, but I was curious about how you swapped out the provided hose with the 50mm hose for the cyclone. Did you do anything to the cyclone itself because where the hose attaches, it becomes significantly more narrow?

@BuckRogers24917 күн бұрын
@@davecable3104 Sanding, Domino, routing, miter saw. There's all kinds of tools you'll use dust extraction on and need to clamp down material. Putting it on the workcenter gets it off your work surface, which equals less clutter. Less clutter means you're not moving crap around to...work.

Great setup but you’re missing one more addition. Added a boom arm to the set up your showing. It’s been fantastic to have all of this in one small footprint.

@RobyWanKenobi9 күн бұрын
Will the boom arm work with this set up?
@MrSO6259 күн бұрын
@@RobyWanKenobi Yes have it set up for about 3 years now and it’s really efficient. I have an older ct model so the work center doesn’t clip into all the fasteners. It will block using one side of the tower by the boom but you can still hang things on it. It’s very important to keep the boom arm legs down so it doesn’t tip over. Not saying this ever happened to me LOL.

@@sedgetool love the Festool line a ton. The quality is great but emptying a long life bag more often seems more cost efficient for use with a track saw, sander, my Lamello or Domino. I do not fear paying a good price on a tool that will pay me back in time saved. It’s just difficult to see how I’ll save in time. I would need to dump it over 800 times to just to save a minute at that price point. Talk to you people. lol a glorified dust holder shouldn’t be in that cost range at all. But this is all my opinion.
@Mike--K9 күн бұрын
@@Abrewdog I use the Oneida Ultimate Dust Deputy, less expensive at $300, attached to my CT26. I am less concerned about cost than I am about fine dust. When the inexpensive plastic bag in the Oneida is full, or nearly full, I close it up and take it out to the trash. I don't empty bags and risk exposing my family or me to the dust.
