From there, I joined Teach For America and taught 7th grade English in Baltimore, MD. I moved home to Cleveland to marry my husband, and have worked in a variety of roles in recruitment and HR. I currently manage a recruitment team, where I work from home when I'm not traveling for my job. I have two babies- my son Landon is three years old, and my daughter Presley is one year old. Great video! You've inspired me to tackle my minivan! Here's my little hack: i clean out the trash a little a few times a week. I actually keep a plastic grocery bag in the compartment under the armrest and use the time I'm in line at the pharmacy or grocery pick up to put trash in the bag while I'm already sitting there. I'll even reach behind me with the car in park and just grab as much junk as I can. Then I empty the bag directly into my recycling bin and trash when I get home before I unload the kids and stuff. This method has really helped me keep up with the stuff that accumulates. But my car is waaaay overdue for a deep clean! Thanks for the inspiration!

I love this I have an excursion and in April I did the same huge clean out! I have told myself if it is not a summer necessity to keep in the car it comes out every time. I make sure to take the time to bring in what is still in the car when we get home! It has helped keep the clutter and trash out or extremely reduced that it only takes a couple seconds to clear it up!! So far I’ve been really on top of it!

I LOVE this real life video, so relatable. My husband is a car detailer & not even a commercial grade vacuum picks everything up he has to use an air blower especially to get the sand out of the carpets. You should look into getting car seat liners, they go under the kiddies car seats and protect the leather & stops the car seats leaving indents, bonus it saves the mess getting into the cracks too. We also have a mat that goes all along the back floor to protect our carpet and a rubber boot liner that is easy to take out & clean, just hose it off, just some things that save us so much time worth looking in to.

We've all been there! ♡ I used to have a subscription for a car wash and it was so nice! Keep baskets in your car always! But buy double the amount to rotate them. So, you will need at least two baskets. One for trash and one for items to be brought back to the house. I also keep a plastic grocery bag hanging on my 💺 seat between the seats in the front seat for wet/food items. Line your back seat floor with a tarp. You can get them at the dollar tree.

I loved this video... it’s so satisfying to see the before and after. One thing I do is to clean out all of the trash anytime I stop for gas because there’s always a trashcan right next to the gas tank and it just became a habit for me that was quick and easy to maintain.

Great video, very satisfying. I’m very strict about my car when it comes to trash. My kids know that all trash, especially from eating fast food gets taken inside and put in the trash can immediately when we get home or on the next stop of our errand running. It really helps keep the car clean. I will occasionally find a candy bar wrapper stuffed in the door cubby area or a half drank water bottle. But, it is amazing how many fast food fries and crumbs make it to the floor, I’m like, kids, do you have a hole in your lip, lol. I’ve always used my Dyson upright to vacuum my vehicle, it has all the necessary attachments to make it easy. I just got the new V10 and I’m excited to try it in our cars.

No Judgement!! It’s tough being clean with kids. What helps me is every time I go to the gas station I open all the doors and throw out any trash I see. I also every 2 weeks go to a drive thru car wash. I carry car wipes in my trunk for a wipe down. I love love their vacuums there. They’re so powerful. Now that my kids are 8 and 5 they love to help wipe and vacuum.

You should look into weathertech floor mats. They are laser cut for your specific car. They are a LIFESAVER for me during the winter with the snow and sludge. Keeps your floors clean! They have them for the front, back, and the cargo area!!

I have always used a ShopVac for cleaning out the cars and the garage and anything dirty or messy like that and they work very well! It also came in handy when our sump pump flooded our basement, because i was able to just vacuum the water right up and dump it outside!

No matter what kind of vacuum that you actually use (hand-held or indoors upright or canister), make sure you empty it OFTEN, because it won’t suck anymore stuff up when there is NO MORE ROOM INSIDE OF IT for the stuff to go into the vacuum receptacle bin!! Also make sure you clean out the HEPA filters whenever necessary.

I use a wireless Dyson vacuum, can’t remember the exact model, but the attachments that come with it are amazing! It has a very long skinny tube that works great for all the little spaces that are hard to reach in a car

I high recommend the Dyson V6 Animal. Once I got mine, it changed my mom car game. I love using the attachments that came with it and it picks up everything from dog hair to gold fish! I have cloth seats and it pulls the dog hair and crumbs right out. I use it in the house all the time but in my car once or twice a week!

If you don’t mind a big bulky vacuum. A shop vac is awesome. It has a ton of attachments you can vacuum and even blow leaves with it. It’s unfortunately not cordless but it’s a big heavy duty vacuum

I have 4 boys ages 15-5 and I “try” to always have them bring in their trash, books, water bottles, sports paraphernalia etc. every time we get home, BUT you know stuff gets missed. One of the best things I do to help keep my car clean is to park next to a cart return area! Most retailers like Walmart, Target & grocery stores have trash cans next to them so I always empty any trash before I unload my twins!! Such a big help ♻️

No judgement. We've all been there. I had a full trunk that started with "I'm going to donate all these items" and then I never did it. It piled up so much that it overflowed and my entire minivan was filled with donations and crap and then it was raining so we had this weird wet dog smell in the car that ended up being wet socks....it was bad. I finally got it all cleaned out too. Life sometimes just gets in the way of cleaning! And kids will never remember how clean the house was, they'll remember how much time you spent with them!

Any shop vac works great and I set a schedule of daily stuff to clean, weekly stuff to clean, monthly, and yearly. I clean at the entrance of every month. As long as you stick to it it will become a habbit, and for motivation I just tell myself the outcome will be great.

I highly highly highly recommend looking into some moulded weather tech floor mats for your car. It would have made cleaning your car so much easier. Because they catch everything. It cuts your vacuuming down so much!!
