Hello everybodeeeeee,
Do you struggle to keep your dining table clear? Yeah, me too. Ours is right by our entrances so everything has a tendency to get dumped there.
It's almost as if someone needs to create a system for all non-grocery items to stop at door, huh? 😏
Let's bust out a project together. It's been months since we've all been able to sit at our table.
And when you're done, go check out my pal ‎@Chastineathome You'll adore her, I promise.
Hope you have a wonderful week. I'm rooting for ya!
Your Pal,
Whit

Thank you so much for the encouraging words @mjgregory! Creating that habit is something i'm working on, because truly, i'd rather just watch the house burn while i knit. :) Adulting is tough some days. Hope you have an amazing day!

Oooh I’m a knitter and crocheter too!! I play a little game where I can’t touch my yarn (or watch yarnie videos). until I have a couple things marked off my list. Then I can listen to one of my favorites on KZbin while I have a short yarn break💗🧶. Keep up the good work!

New subscriber here. Wishing you great success in your decluttering.! I also have rooms that have turned into storage. And needing to move/empty a home with 40 plus years of living in it. Preferably by spring/summer 2024. May you & I both see great accomplishment!

I wish I lived near you I would come help you in a minute. I live in Texas. I lived in Bremerton Washington while my EX- husband was in the Navy. My two youngest where born there, We had a house built near Silverdale.. Not my business' but curious, why are your husband and daughter not helping you. There are no excuses in my book. They live there they should help. They certainly contribute to the mess. Even if they they work, go to school, whatever; does not matter. You work 24-7 without a break. If they helped you even with dishes and laundry and trash. That would be awesome!❤❤🦋🦋❤❤🦋🦋❤❤🦋🦋❤❤🦋🦋❤❤🦋🦋❤❤

You are getting it done! Remember to hydrate and take short breaks. I have an ankle and knee injury, s podcasts and A/C and just taking it slow on a daily basis to keep things nice in my home. 🏡

You could do what you did now everywhere. Step 1 sort into categories and have a trash bag for trash categorie. Step 2 have a donation box and another empty box and sort per categorie what to donate or not. What stays goes in the other box for you to take to the right place and then you only have to take one trip away with each categorie. And also when doing small sections that means the box won't get to heavy for you. What do you think?

Yes, it does seems that simple, i just need to stop overthinking things. It's hard with so many interruptions. What you all don't see is that these 25-30 minute videos start out as an hour 45 to over 2 hours, which seems ridiculous for cleaning out such a small space, but there is so much to edit out where my little one needs help. It's what made my initial attempts decluttering boxes out of our shop so successful though. It's brilliant advice! Thank you for taking the time to help me with your suggestion.

I think that might be the beauty of this method 🤔 because no matter the interruption or how many they may be you can always pick it up where you left of. If you have stop sorting then the established categories will be there to get a few new things added and if you are at the box stage you just put the box down and pick it up again as many times as is needed until it's empty (remember: small box you can put down anywhere). And remember that anything is better than nothing. Even if you only get to 3 things per day it would soon add up. So keep chipping away. It didn't get this way over a day or even a month so why should it go away in a day? Progress is progress. Have you watched Sunday Dawns Tiny Tidy Tuesday? I really like that concept. You make a little space nice and clean and then you keep it that way to the best of you ability and then you add another small little section and so on. Of course I'm going to help if I can 🌺 You can do this and I'm rooting for you!

Ok, you have officially motivated me to tackle my dinning room table - yours looks GREAT!!! That genealogy project your daughter did sounds super interesting- as does your homeschooling in general! I know you have a LOT on your plate with the decluttering/momming/general awesomeness, but if you ever get the wild hair to film a whole lesson or even a whole day in your homeschool I would be fascinated by it!!! ALSO... Thank you so much for the shoutout lady, it means a lot to me ❤❤❤I LOVE that you are using a version of the 'magic spray' bottle and that it is working out for you - that makes my day🥰🥰🥰

I got excited to see this opening. It looks like it can go faster than the sentimental boxes. I don't think it matters too much whether you just sort into categories or take stuff and put it where it goes the first time. I generally try to get a pile going and make each trip the most effective that I can. And for getting tired I do a combo of sit down jobs and moving jobs mixed up strategically. Once you get the area cleaned it will go so much faster when you don't have to slow down and shimmy through areas. Little amounts of minutes add up, so don't underestimate that you can get more done than you think, even if you have less than 30 min or so at a time. You made good progress so far on getting the table more open! Yeah !!!

Yay! Sorting like with like! :) but getting distracted + losing steam are SO real 💜but yes, even 20 minutes somewhere will help! Something is better than nothing + lots of somethings over time can help :) And as Dana K. White says, starting in the visible spaces for those 20 minutes (like this table!) can be especially impactful. The table already looks much better!

Focus on decluttering cupboards, closets, drawers so when you do the spaces you have somewhere to put things away, otherwise you will be constantly moving things from one spot to another.
