Hello Everybody!
Everyone here has had such awesome feedback, I am hoping you'll share some more with me on a dilemma I am having.
A friendly person in our community suggested setting up stations in my kitchen. I initially had it up like this, but managing food inventory in different areas is, perhaps, not a skill I possess? :D
How to proceed? I'm wondering what you would do.
I also have everything but the spice draw and the alcohol cabinet inventoried now. Woot!
And I am so thrilled my wee man has his own shelf in the pantry now so he can know where all his kitchen things are and be a little more independent.
Looking forward to your ideas.
Your Pal,
Whit #decluttering #cleanwithme #declutteringmotivation #kitchendeclutter

I’ve heard many of the organizing people say that you can’t organize clutter. An observation I had as you were going through the cabinets… you were decluttering the expired food and it became easier to organize. Maybe instead of thinking about where baking, appliances and extra spices should go, maybe start to declutter cabinets and get a feel how the space will best serve you. You did great making sure to stay on track with getting that shelf all setup for your son! And you made it work because of what you let go of, making the space serve you! Great video, keep up the great work! 😊

Use your oaks, wheat flour along with the apple sauce for muffins. Freeze them for a quick breakfast 🥞.

I have been following your journey. I have also been decluttering . It is a lot of work and when you have pain it makes it all the harder. So kudos to you for what you are putting into it. I have a small suggestion. 🧡 When you plan to declutter a space clear everything from that space. Only put back what needs to go there. Please do not feel bad about letting things go. Even food. I keep a couple bins nearby when I declutter. One for give away. One for Goes elsewhere and a trash bag for the trash. You are doing a great job. With Love, 🌸 Jenn

I have binge watched all your videos and enjoying your progress. You are such a down to earth person & so personable it's like chatting with a friend! I will continue to follow you on your journey while I do some decluttering & organizing myself. As you said, it's progress not perfection! Take care!

Don't worry about making things '"perfect" to begin with. Items can always be moved later if you find they aren't working where they are.

It might be helpful to think about, how much of an item you would like to have ideally. For example "how many kinds of flour are really needed" "how many cans of soup" If you find that perfect amount you know what you need to re buy. If you are a visual type you could empty out one shelf at a time and just fill it with as much as feels good for you. It's helpful for me to see what I have and have it visually pleasing. It's a great motivator to not overfill it again.

❤❤❤ Less inventory and DO NOT PUT FOOD IN THE SHOPPE!! I am the same way, if I dont see it, I forget and I realize even our 2nd fridge in the garage, I still forget to go out there and also I notice I am lazy to go get it too sometimes. I put all condiments all together like at the grocery store. Like micro category, you dont have time to keep that all up. You should watch Clutterbug too. You realize you can keep a lot of food even tho it expired as long as you use it that same month you find it within a year. We still eat boxed or canned foods up to a year. If it has vinegar in it, same deal, use it asap.

Dawn from the minimal mom reminds us to store appliances closest to where you actually use it, this way it’ll be easier to also put it away and less likely that you’ll put it on the table and say ‘oh I’ll put it back in that cabinet over there later.’

Put baking / muffin / cake pans below oven. In the bottom drawer.

There are some Amazing Desserts with Eagle Brand Condensed Milk. It's sweet an thick. It's like a dessert by itself. You can make a yellow cake mix in a 9x12 pan, bake by instructions, let cake cool. Use the end of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the cake. In a large bowl mix 2 cups of whole milk, 2%, (whatever you have) 1 can of evaporated milk, 1 can of Eagle brand milk. Pour over the top of the cake. Let is sit overnight in refrigerator, or several hours until cold. Top with whipped topping. Easy and Delicious. Love the new organization.

Good job once again. It takes time to figure out what fits or is the best space. You might change things around after you live with it for awhile. It will be cluttered until some of that food backstock is consumed but I feel in a few months you will have an amazing kitchen to cook in.

You could always sell the Pyrex? Depend how much other space you have to store things while they’re being listed and not sold yet. And decluttering is always multi staged I think. Actually ongoing.

Hi, it’s really important to not use your stove as a counter top. My dad was really strict with us with that. Burners can be turned on accidentally and next thing you know there’s a fire in the kitchen.

Oh definitely. Our little guy is not danger savvy, so we pull all the knobs off our stove when we aren't in the kitchen.

wow look at this great organization looking so good & giving me ideas. Glad your back is doing better still be careful with overreaching so don't put anything heavy up top that you would use a lot. A step stool will help hope you find one soon & maybe a grabber stick you son might have fun using the grabber too lol You got this Whit this is your first go around so as you use the kitchen after organizing you might have to fine tune a few things & that is ok.

I would be interested to know why you decant into glass bottles, is it for the aesthetic or to keep them fresh, or another reason? I keep my dry goods, like flour, in the freezer because it keeps them fresh and bugs out of them.

Great organization of the food items. Perfect spot for your son’s shelf. Appliances would work best on top shelves I believe. You look so happy with your progress! Keep it up 😊❤

I would suggest keeping heavy appliances out of the cupboards. Getting them in and out of the cabinets will probably deter you from using them.

Perhaps small appliances on top shelves and leave larger appliances that you use frequently on the counters, that way no heavy lifting. Just looking at that new pantry area reminds me of how far you have come, great work 👍

Thanks for the encouragement! Oh my goodness, markets in the Netherlands are my favourites! So much healthy, fresh prepared food to heat at home and yet no shortage of ingredients if you want to gather it all to do it yourself. So practical! And easy to shop! I could have moved into the one we frequented in Haarlem during our visit. :)
