Oh yes, them nasty self cleaning ovens. Uggg, first time I used it, the house filled with smoke and a horrible caustic smell. The instructions did warn us about this. I turned the self clean on when it was a cool day. Good thing because doors and windows were open. Then after my oven wouldn’t heat. Maybe to 200 degrees but that’s it. Turns out most self clean ovens mess with your thermostat. I love your kerchief. I used to wear one years ago. Perfect to keep dust off and cleaning your oven. You look so pretty with it Please do more of these videos. So refreshing and I really want to get busy ~Janet 😘

Reset. Such a pleasant word that sounds unfussy and very doable for even the most overwhelmed of us. We all have those areas and spaces that are lived in harder than others and it shows... we can choose to let that battle happen or we cam choose to RE SET the space regularly.

The kitchen is a tiring one for sure! From time to time I will vacuum the little tufted spots but my sofa and chairs get dirty from the kids, not so much the fur from the dogs. Maybe because their fur is so short, it's just not as noticeable. I'm so glad you're loving this!

I get such a sense of accomplishment when I clean. Seeing the results of my labor keeps me motivated. Our home is welcoming, cozy and a place where we can have a calm atmosphere. Hi Nikki! I have this planner in my cart but haven't purchased it yet. I was curious how long these tasks took for you to complete (aside from filming) and how you would say it compares to the fly lady method? I'm particularly curious if you still have enough time for 'desk day', grocery shopping and errands? I am also a mom of 4 with children around the same ages as yours and feel like I am just stumbling from day to day. Between appointments, going to the gym, administrative tasks, errands, after school activities, and feeling like I am at the grocery store just about everyday, I am usually only getting the basic resets completed and meals on the table. All other deeper cleaning takes a back seat. Because of this busy season of life, I have hired outside help with cleaning but I would love to get back to doing this myself. There is a sense of connection and pride in my home and caring for the ones who live here that I get when I am the one cleaning. I also wanted to say that I have long been inspired by your consistency, work ethic, and intentionality and know I would benefit by going to bed earlier and waking earlier- in truth that may solve all I mentioned above! Thank you for sharing your days and rhythms with all of us. You appear as a woman who does it all and is so put together, along with times when life throws a curve ball or you're just not feeling up for what you've planned to do for the day. But you truly put in all of the hard work to make it happen (that is what I'm most inspired by) and we are blessed to see the fruits of that!!

I haven't timed anything but that is one of the big differences in this with FlyLady, no timing. Do what you can with the time that you have be it a lot or a little. Something is better than nothing and then there are times we have more time and really wish to do a lot. Our energy levels change from day to day. As far as the other things are concerned, this is just a cleaning schedule and doesn't cover anything else. I believe there is time for what is most important to us. When I need to take care of bills and my fridge and shopping, it all gets done. Also, as you came to the conclusion about when it comes to time, getting up earlier is number one in my book. It solves a myriad of problems as well as just doing what we need to do. The hardest thing is to make ourselves do what we already know needs to be done. Our biggest enemy are the distractions.
