As a retired RN, I also know the clean to dirty method of cleaning , as you do. It creeps me out when I see videos of people cleaning the toilet rim first and then moving up to the seat and tank with that same contaminated cloth . Ewwwwww !

NEVER EVER EVER USE PUMICE STONES!! ESPECIALLY NEVER DRY!! That is grinding away at the ceramic which will give never ending rings. I've worked in the professional cleaning industry for a lot of years. Lysol Toilet Bowl Cleaner gets everything off. Including in trashed hoarder homes. Sorry if that comes across harsh. I've just seen far to many Toilets damaged.

Should make sure the pumas stone is wet while working on the toilet. Eventually you will damage the toilet when using the pumas stone dry.

Hard water is not your fault, so you should not be embarrassed! I had a buildup similar to yours, but it was not in a ring. It was down one side of the toilet bowl. I was fed up, so I bought the pumice stone. I have not used it because I thought of something else! As I was thinking about the stain, I got the idea that if Dawn can remove oil from marine life, it can probably clean my toilet. I sprayed the power scrub on the stain in the bowl, onto the porcelain not covered by water. I went back a little while later and the staim was GONE! I did not have to scrub it at all, but did since there was dish liquid in the toilet. I had tried all types of cleaners, and thought that stain was only going to get worse. I now plan to squirt the original Dawn dish detergent under the rim of the toilet, and let it sit overnight. When I used the spray, I did not get much of it under the rim, since my concern was the toilet bowl. If the liquid does not work, I will try letting the spray sit under the rim another night. If that does not work I will put on a few pairs of gloves and use the pumice stone.

Wow!!! What can Dawn Powerspray not do?? It's incredible! It's not the hard water that is embarrassing, but it almost looks like we don't clean the toilets...I don't like that part. Thanks for the awesome tip!!

I used to live in Colorado in the mountains. We had well water which was very hard calcified water. When we moved into our home it had these horrible rings that were actually like little ledges in the toilet bowl. So we did the method where we turned off the water, flush the toilet, and when it was empty we poured a whole 2 l bottle of Dollar store Coca-Cola in the bowl and let it sit overnight. The next day we turned on the water and gave it a flush and voila! It was gone!

I'm from Canada and I can tell you Canadian Tire also has a product called Lime Away. That stuff takes out the iron and other stains so easily! I even dilute it in a spray bottle once I see that orange dingy stuff show up. I hear you on the battle of the dirty toilet. How does your washing machine look? I'm also on well water and mine is soooo bad! But nothing a little Lime Away can't fix! 😀

Hi 👋🏼 I found your channel by typing in GoCleanCo. (They've come to KZbin). My daughter mailed me 2 Pumie stones. That rust under the rim! Rust that looked dirty. The stone took off all the rust. Very easy too. I've never had to use it again. Toilet's not damaged. I used the 2nd pumie on my gas stove top. Ceramic area above the pilot light. Used gently as it was a warm area. And around the rim of opening to burner. Stove top completely white & clean. Wipe the stove every night along with dishes, have not used stone again. I use a spray bottle of water & a small amount of blue Dawn. I have both Pumies in plastic bags - Bathroom & Kitchen. My daughter bought on Amazon. Love your channel. It's not binge cleaning for hours. I can't do that. Someone who talks to me, explains, shows the process! Thank you.

Bars keepers and a wet pumice stone takes care of that rim in 2 minutes flat 😁, the pumice must be wet if not it will scratch the porcelain. Also if you pour lime away will lift all rust and hard water stains pretty fast. I do this at my clients' homes because time is of the essence in the cleaning business 👍😉

Only Iron Out works on my hard and rusty water. Lime away is just not strong enough at my house! 😳I use the pumice as well but even gentle use eventually etches the porcelain and then the problem compounds.
