Best way to get a 15 lorry load tip site moved, by the council or the land owners quickly... And I know it's a horrible way to do it, but, just go in one morning 8-9 am, douse a section in petrol and set it blaze... Immediately call it in on at least two or three mobiles and a couple of payphones. Just having the fire department getting involved makes it a priority for clearance and finding the tipping culprits, let alone the police response because of distractions to road users and concerned citizens. I know this works, months our street complained about an abandoned car, no action taken whatsoever... Sure got shifted quick once it was set on fire.

Maybe it is just because I am living in an more prosperous area, but I've never seen that big illegal fly-tips here in germany...maybe legally disposing waste is easier here?

It's a really big problem in Britain I guess, think it has something to do with high taxes on getting ride of waste so people say f it and dump it in the country side.

Getting rid of waste in the UK is as expected EXPENSIVE. Need to have about half a skip of rubbish removed and it cost me £200! If you have a car you can take it to the local "recyling" center but they can have odd hours and can be a good long drive. Also vans are not allowed unless prebooked weeks in advance and its not being used for commercal use just on the off chance you have trade waste (£££). You also need to have a waste carriers licence to transport any non domestic waste too so you could be an electrican and get caugh for transporting waste. There was a new story a few years ago where a roofer was fined £300 for a couple of crisp and sandwich packets in his van!

Question for the UK: how is the trash dealt with as it goes out of the house? Does the council provide trash service, whether paid by tenant or council? Is it up to the tenant to take it to a council trash facility? Just trying to figure out why so much flytipping.

Yes of course the council provides garbage removal, and recycling of glass, paper, plastic etc and local recycling facilities where people can take any other thing they need to dispose of. Some people are just too damn lazy and selfish.

@@lil-al But the problem in some counties is that bins don't come free. Wheelie bins in my county cost more than £30 to replace. For anyone struggling financially, a stolen bin can leave them with no option.

@@kimberly1273 iirc it's just businesses that have to pay for the tip, which is what most of the flytipping is done by, that and scum who charge people to take stuff to the tip they can't themselves (lack of a car or a big enough car or illness etc) and instead of paying the fee at the tip just dump it. basically, the government is causing flytipping by proxy by charging businesses, even though the tips are *already paid for by taxes*

I love fly-tippers, and I also throw all my rubbish from my car window.. Council's own fault for trying to rip people off in the tip. I took 1 broken slab and tried to charge me £8 so that ended up in the ditch f0ck em let em clean it up
