Time to bring in "Work for your benefits" legislation to bring down the clean up costs & perhaps day leave for crims to clean the byways. I'm sure those cars could be worked on by apprentice mechanics & then donated to charities, who could possibly offer to folk looking for work etc. There's gotta be some practical ways of dealing with these enormous clean up fees as it's just not fair on farmers to have to foot that bill!

Gotta love a ``Lord Of the Flies'' reference or two! Be that as it may, there must be an underlying problem. How expensive is curbside bin service there? By me, it's privatized, so competition keeps prices low. Let all these fly tippers get dumping licenses, so they would be on the books as passing inspections, etc.! I mean, why don't they take it to a landfill? They don't make enough money to pay landfill fee, or they're not allowed to do it at all.

@@LeeJay1990 Flintshire Council have just brought in a new permit for all trailers on top of restrictions to the type of vehicle you can take in there. No car derived commercial vehicle, no pickups, they refuse to accept any car parts other than tyres. How they expect you to drop off a mattress, a fridge, an old oven, broken fencing, old carpets old sheds is beyond me. Had to do 3 trips the other day just to get rid of weeds and soil instead of 1 trip with my trailer how is that environmentally friendly?

Why do the British fly-tip? Do you have to pay to dump it legally? In my country, you can deliver your waste to the recycle centre for free. We also have rest stops with toilets on the highway. Picking up your pet's poop is mandatory by law, so we have collecting bins with little baggies on strategic places, like dog parks and dog walking fields.

In all reality the garbage will just be going from one spot in the country side, to another spot in the country side into a land fill. So it doesn’t fix the recycling issue at all,or help the environment , it’s just going somewhere you don’t have to look at it .

fly tipping the reason why? Waste disposal is the responsibility of the local council who collect tax from premises and businesses and then wish to collect extra thongs when you take waste two there dumps or collection centres. It's all about the benjamins how much you can save by avoiding we impose taxes and fees the only cost to the fly tippers is the cost of fuel to get to the location. In this day and age the cost of fuel could be recuperated by going directly to the dumps rather than the countryside.

I'd expect the authorities to get involved if someone dumped a huge pile of rubbish in my garden. I'm happy for my taxes to go towards supporting farmers deal with illegal behaviour, but they don't, the farmer has to pay for the removal. We should all be able to enjoy the countryside, not have it blighted with the selfish behaviour of fly-tippers.
