For you boys who went 2wd instead of 4wd any regrets?! About to get tacolicious and I’m stuck between the 2 options. Would be nice to save the 4-5k with 2wd since it’ll mainly be driven city/hwy in Northern Cali with occasional light trails for camping, fishing, mtbing BUT I’m worried I could get stuck and regret it. Am I over doubting the 2wd and getting myself into spending that extra money on something I’ll probably never need?
@ravdeepsandhu244 жыл бұрын
I’m in the same boat as you, exact question in my mind. So were you able to find your answer. I guess I’m going to give Dirt Kings a call soon.
@MH831 Жыл бұрын
You won’t get stuck on light trails. especially with the LSD tacomas have, just stay away from deep mud even then with agressive enough tires you sorta can get through it…. Sliding sideways haha but if you plan on doing any sort of gnarly jeep trails get 4WD

How does a leaf spring truck with a 16” travel shock mounted to the axle pull 19” of travel?
@sam_s_4 жыл бұрын
Having the shock mounted at an angle will allow the travle of the axle to be more than the travel of the shock. That said, his don't look to be at enough of an angle to add 3".

86” track width on a Gen 2 Tacoma? 🤔 Think he meant 76”. 86” would make him a whole foot wider than a Raptor. Edit - I’m an idiot. I was thinking track width vs track width and he said overall width, not track width 🤦🏼♂️ Dohh!

@J.Young8084 жыл бұрын
2nd gen = Second Generation 2005-2015 3rd gen = Third Generation 2016-present Then we have the First Generation 1995 1/2-2004 everything before 1995.5 was just known as a pickup. Hope that helps

I woulda cried if it was 4wd haha
@pillaryclinton61874 жыл бұрын
They live in southern California there's no need for 4wd. Most of the time they are on hard packed dirt trails occasionally they have to go through mud but they're hauling ass through it for one and 2 they're not deep ass mud pits that last forever so they just fly through the mud. Only other reason I could think they would need it is for out in the sand dunes but usually they will run paddle tires or lower the air pressure really low if they're running beadlocks also usually hauling ass. If they do get stuck they'll get pulled out. 4wd is just more shit more to go wrong more stuff in your way more weight and it interferes with everything else they have going on in the front end. There are 4wd pre runners and trophy trucks but they're not as common.
