This is the story of Marion, a single mother raising three children, alongside a collection of lizards in her modest three-bedroom home. The limited space barely accommodates her family, let alone the additional presence of snakes, lizards and fish. The reptiles and supplies are overflowing her living room spilling into her kitchen, transforming countertops from areas meant for meal prep into storage for glass cages and reptile food. For Marion, these reptiles aren't just pets; they're a vital source of income, making parting with them an unthinkable choice.
Our team of cleaners, movers, and a professional organizer, had only 1 day to clear away whatever was no longer needed, to make space for everything she needed or loved. A sincere thank you to the homeowner for acknowledging that she needed help and for reaching out for it, that’s a huge step. I’m 65, permanently disabled but am OCD clean, neat and organized. It takes me lots longer than most people but cleaning is my way of focusing on something besides the pain. A huge thank you to all who helped with this enormous job, not one I could do with reptiles but glad she got help.

Yes, she really needed this help to get things in order and you did a great job. I also have a chronic illness and I found that the only way to manage my home was to declutter brutally, organize my belongings carefully and simplify my life. I really recommend that for this woman, it makes everything SO much easier. She is clearly very lovely person and I wish her all my best 💜

I have a bearded dragon, cat, dog, rabbit and birds and I make a point to ensure they are provided a clean environment as well as plenty of natural light. I can't imagine keeping a living creature in such dark, dreary and filthy place. I don't think she is being deliberately cruel.....but that is cruel none the less. :(

I live in the U.K. & I helped a disabled window lady, before her husband died he was embarrassed about letting people into the house, as she hoarded things as she never went out. Every time I had to call for a ambulance to take her to hospital they said it was dangerous especially as she weighed 15 stone

I would definitely remove that big picture and hung the tv and do away with the tv stand she would be more able to get her motorized wheelchair in the door and around without that tv stand. Great job and thank you for helping her. Sometimes it is so difficult when you are in this situation to know where to start. This gives me hope for me. Thank you, Homeowner.

They all have big challenges. They do but really it’s more than we could take on. We focused on getting her in a better more sanitary environment. I wish we had the resources to do more!

Sometimes having a hoarder parent is really really hard. You can't clean, fix,throw away anything sometimes. Sometimes the kids are just worn down from the constant tension and arguing.

Same here. I don’t have children. I’m 37 and my cats are my beloved children come first. Everyday I go to home after finished work, I check on their litter box and their feed bowl & water bowl. Also I make sure cats are safe and healthy. That’s important to me. 😺
