@@jenntip Not all washers have that. My last one had a magnetic switch instead of a pin (small handheld magnet defeated that pretty easily) and the new one we got last year actually has a locking mechanism that won't let you open the lid when the wash and spin cycles are running. It does however stay unlocked during the water fill cycle is going so you can add that forgotten shirt that dropped out of the basket on the way to the laundry room.😁

I did this with my old 40+ year old kenmore series 80. Let me TELL YOU. Grossness! I started out with doing laundry stripping in it. Instead of doing it in the bath tub like everyone else had been doing. And immediately after doing it I realized my washer didn’t have that wet smell anymore. You know, not quite moldy, not quite mildew, just smelled very faintly of stagnant water. Well, that was gone. So I did it without clothes in it, and WOW. what came out was disgusting! So glad I did it because my washer ran so much better, filled faster, DRAINED faster, and over all washed faster, better, and fresher than ever before! It was even QUIETER and more balanced! Such an incredible improvement

WR ZL1 fabric softener and hard water leave residue like that-hard water is descaled by things like washing soda in the video and is often what causes the dirty looking water from the minerals. Detergent is made to rinse clean. I have soft water that reads at zero on a test strip and use powder detergent in appropriate amounts. I’ve had my washing machine for YEARS and running a cycle like this produces zero results for me. No slime, no dirty water, nothing. It’s mostly clear water with a few agitation bubbles.

And it fills the water to the max level and drag all the clothes through the water, making it scrubbing with the tub and each other to make it clean. It's different from this day HE top load which fills the water such a little amount just to wet the clthes and use the pulsator to increase the space of the tub and beat the clothes to make them clean. Why the graduation March song?
@donkmeister6 жыл бұрын
It's funny how music translates: what you call "the Graduation March" is "Land of Hope and Glory", aka Elgar's Pomp and Circumstance March no. 1, which is the unofficial English National Anthem. It's unofficial - all countries of the UK have The National Anthem, God Save the Queen. But we all have 2 unofficial anthems each too - England has Land of Hope and Glory as well as Jerusalem, Wales was Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau as well as Cym Rhonda, Scotland has Flower of Scotland as well as (I would walk) 500 Miles, Northern Ireland has Danny Boy / Londonderry Air. I recall an American friend asking why a "Christmas song" was being played in summer. That confused me. What song was she referring to? Greensleeves. In American they are more familiar with an alternative set of lyrics "What child is this?" for the nativity story, instead of the original "Alas my love" love song. Tchaikovksy's 1812 overture is another one that doesn't always translate - it was written in honour of the 1812 victory of Russia over France and originally played as a rousing overture, but in America for the last 40 years it has been used to mourn defeat every 4th of July, in reference to the US failure to annex Canadian territory in 1812. Finally, Snoop Doggy Dog's "Gin and Juice" - In most of the world, Tanqueray or Seagram's with orange juice is a drink for an older lady, but the sort who has the sort of vim that impresses one. The 80 year-old lady with a tattoo and a war record who you hear swearing her head off when she thinks no-one is looking. But, in 1990s California it was a beverage enjoyed mostly by G's and Hustlas. Sometimes by Hustlas now back to the G's.

I'm thoroughly DISGUSTED! 🤮 I'm stuck using the pay washers on site as my apartment does not have hook ups. I would have to imagine what kind of scum one might find if they were to attempt to clean the washers as you did yours! Well done! I just hope all that muck wasn't the "glue" holding the thing together and it's still working fine. 😊 Many blessings to you. 🙏🏼

Apartment size portable washers & dryers! Man, I sure do wish I knew they existed during my past 10 or so years living in apartments! Do a quick KZbin search. That should be a life changer. You can pay as little or as much as you want for them. No need for washer/dryer hook-ups. Even some of the cheapie 2 in 1 washer's w/ the little attached spin "dryer" (not an actual dryer- just a very efficient spin cycle) But even some of those guys have some pretty great reviews on KZbin. I feel your pain. I've had my clothes stolen numerous times, have had whole loads ruined because some asshole dried their clothes with some chewing gum and didn't bother to clean it out 😑 sigh. I can go on, and on, but I'm sure you are well aware. That struggle is REAL. I normally don't leave comments this long haha, but I really wish someone could of told me these portable apartment-size machines existed, let alone, were an option. Best of luck Lisa!
