CLEANING A DIRTY E30 TRANSMISSION | BMW Rally Car Build Series

Hey everyone, welcome back to Harles Garage. Got another quick video in my E21 Build Series. In this video I start the process of working on my replacement motor. Before I can tear it down I need to first degrease and clean all the caked on dirt and grease. Super Clean contacted me about trying out some of their products, so I figured why not degrease my transmission!
Although Super Clean sent me some of their degreaser, Im not being paid or sponsored to use it, they simply asked I would like to try it out for you guys and luckily I had just the thing that needed to be cleaned.

Are you rebuilding this transmission? Seems like everyone cleaning transmissions on here pressure washes water into the input shaft where the TC slides in. There's definitely water inside that transmission. That stuff works really good though holy.

Try the purple degreaser on old fogged up headlights... it's crazy how much yellowness it takes out.

Save your money and just use oven cleaner. Can't leave it too long on alloy though.

Do you know if this will damage the transmission? I am wanting to do this on a f chassis zf8 transmission.

The transmission has seals on the input shaft and the output shaft. They keep the transmission fluid inside and water/grease/dirty outside.

there is no way they didn't give you an amped up concentration for this video. go back to the parts store and buy a bottle, and this shit won't clean jack shit
