It's also possible that at one point she had tried to get on top of things and succeeded, but couldn't keep it up for the afore mentioned reasons. @@robbrien8506 Most people get help well before they start throwing their soiled diapers in a big pile on the bathroom floor so that the door can no longer be opened, and then move on to dumping them in the living room. It can't get this bad just because of physical disability or old age. You have to have severe mental problems, and be completely isolated with no visitors for months or years. Consider how little difference in effort it would be to throw the diapers in a garbage bag, rather than straight on the floor. If you can physically get up from your chair and walk to the bathroom, open the door, remove the pad and toss it, you are capable of throwing it in a bag also. There has to be something seriously mentally wrong with you in order to not do that.
@robbrien85062 жыл бұрын
@@OtnerNautThat's what I said. Main contributing factors- she was very likely severely mentally ill and physically ill (an elder who had surgery) in order to bring about such a condition in her house. BTW, even if you're physically able to put the soiled diapers in a temporary container (or even something as lightweight and simple as putting the dishes in the sink or in the cupboard), the mental effort to do so greatly diminishes as the illness takes hold and you reach the point of no return. (This is the genesis of most of these hoarder stories). Also, those containers of heavy, soiled diapers have to regularly be brought downstairs and dragged out in a garbage container outside for pickup or they'll start to really build up. That alone would become a physical impossibility for the ill person and another reason to abandon the effort and just start dumping them on the main level as well.

There were times I lived in pure filth and I did not even flinch. I just wanted to not exist, and my environment reflected that deeply. What hurts is, I'm a clean tidy person. No one would ever guess what my house hides. Now I'm mentally healing, I want a good environment, I want to clean daily, I enjoy looking after myself. So I've got professional help and we are gutting my house. These kinds of cleaners are angels in disguise. I cried in relief just getting to speak to someone who was so willing and able to help me, and who didn't judge me. I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders, and I feel like a human again. When you are at that level of depression, you don't care what goes on around you, you don't want to be here, you're essentially giving up in every area of living because you don't want to live. It's sad that people judge and they dont understand that this truly comes from deep pain, trauma, depression, chronic health issues, mental health, drug use, the list goes on. Agree, mental illness or disorders (i have Bpd) pushes people in a lot of things, amongst them: hoarding. I was in the space as you, not filthy but just things piling up, didn't organize, keeping things of any kind like souvenirs or "this may be useful" due to my childhood. We moved all the times, all i learned was to keep stuff and developed emotional attachment to almost everything. I was ashamed of asking for help. Then I saw in a book store the KonMari book. Don't know why I said "l'll buy it", her method was what I needed. I didn't realize how much that lifestyle contributed to my already diagnosed Bpd. Your patience is immense. Someone I know asked me to clean their hoarder home after not taking the bins out in 5 years and the smell and volume was overwhelming. Each time you think you've broken the back of the work, you just keep finding more.

This was very difficult to watch. You are absolutely amazing- I’m glad she allowed you in. That takes a lot of humility.

I’m not grossed out, I’m just grateful that there’s someone else than just me who is willing to scrub a horrendous toilet for someone who let it get bad because they are incapacitated in some way. I don’t love cleaning but I love being sure that someone won’t become sick due to their living environment.

The diapers almost got me. I had to ff through that. You are a freakin SAINT for that bathroom alone.

I have never commented on anything on KZbin before, but I had to make an exception. Sir, you did an amazing job in the bathroom! You should be proud of your work!!!

Oh no, that was a disgusting situation and a digusting job. What a sad situation for the lady. She must have daily care for herself and daily care for the house. Without your cleaning nobody could enter the house and could help her. You did an extremely good job. You deserve much more than a you tube plaque!!!!!!!

The grace and compassion you give people is a lesson to us all. I watch your channel to help motivate me with regular, run-of-the-mill cleaning, but also for your wonderful mercy towards humanity. And witty repartee of course. And maybe spying canned moose.

God bless you for what you do. I know people get sick and disabled but if they could just have a box of garbage bags next to the toilet they could at least put the pull ups in the bag. I’m so thankful you could help her Now if she can get someone to come weekly and help her that would keep it from getting in this shape again. ❤️
