I have a Toyota Celica GT-Four and the stereo broke 4 years ago. Not bothered having it fixed. The sound of the engine and the turbo spinning up are the best music to listen to while driving. :o)

Great video! Sounds like a carwash when the tape heads were being cleaned.☺👍✌

It actually sounds like your player thinks you have a bad tape. Sometimes, when tapes sit for awhile (Even the newer ones) the tape within tightens-the player will recognize this problem and try to reverse sides- try fast forwarding and rewinding the tapes in another player before playing them in your car. You should clean your deck anyway- will give a better sound quality and protect your recordings. If this doesn't work, your player may need new belts. -Hope this helps-Thanks for watching

VICNASTY1989 My tape deck keeps knocking out the passenger side speaker when I use my cassette to aux adapter. Will cleaning my tape deck with one of these fix that?

Right when I heard Human Beings being played on that cassette I automatically knew it was the Twister soundtrack haha

That sounds like the head needs to be cleaned, that can be done with a Q-tip and some isopropyl rubbing alcohol, or a store bought kit like the one in this video. -Should solve your problem -Hope that helps, -Thanks for watching!

@TheOJwithPULP Continued... There is a way of disassembling the stereo and replacing the spindle gear (but this is quite difficult and requires the use of rare OEM parts). Try putting your tape opposite to the side you want to listen to (and hit "PROG"- program to reverse the direction of play) this might stop your click. Another option is, these TOYOTA tape stereos are fairly inexpensive at junkyards, you might be able to find one that still works good. Thanks for watching!

Question: My 99' Corolla's tape dock rejects cassettes. Would doing this help in any way? My cassette player always worked just fine and I would use a cassette adapter to plug in my iPod. I did this for more than a year. One day I pushed in the cassette and I heard this scary sounding clicking and the dock "spat out" the cassette. At first I thought maybe I needed a new cassette but nope, the dock rejects all cassettes. I've since just left the cassette player alone and have been stuck in radio hell. Any pointers and advise would be great. Thanks.

hi did you ever try it? any luck? my 96 volvo keeps auto reversing the sides and I'm hoping this will fix it because its like my last hope. Ive tried removing the auto reverse feature from the cassette and i have bought new ones. I think a cleaning is what it needs. but did it fix your problem?
@Emyvampgrl9 жыл бұрын

hey hoping to get a quick response. I bought a 1999 corolla for a winter beater. And I bought a cassette aux cord adaptor because I hate radio music. When I put it in it makes really loud noises and I tried everything but yet it works on my moms 05 camry. Any suggestions???

My dad's got this Toyota Corolla 1998, and he still got the cassette deck. The deck is powerful, but the problem is, when it is in reverse mode, it gives this annoying buzzing sound (the deck itself), and the sound you get from the speakers is very unpleasant!!

@Vanni3711 жыл бұрын
So my question is. What will the problem with that? Should I clean it?
@VICNASTY198912 жыл бұрын
@TheOJwithPULP I know exactly what your talking about, I had the premium CD/ Cassette stereo in my Camry but I removed it because it passed beyond the clicking stage to just grinding and buzzing. So I put this cheap single cassette unit in. The problem is the tape is driven by spindles on plastic gears (due to heat, and extreme cold)- these weaken and loose teeth- causing a gap between the motor and the gear during turning resulting in a "Click"- CONTINUED.......

Do you know what the cassette unit you bought is? I'm thinking I might need a replacement.

Hi. I have a problem with my tape deck. The sound works fine but there is a arrow that goes up and down and the song would skip. Then the tape will reject itz self.
@rajeshbakshi30187 жыл бұрын
IF (if) you are talking about arrows in different directions it means your deck is trying to play in both directions but unable to pull the tape in any direction. This could be due to a few things : 1 Belt loose (most likely). 2. gears and wheels jammed or cassette is jammed/old. 3. Weak motor (least likely as the motor is trying to spin in both directions. If the arrows change with mechanical sounds it means the tape is trying pull the cassette in one direction but cannot so it follows the protocol it does for auto reverse. Then in the same way it happens again for the other side so after limited "tries" it like "I tried and tried but could not succeed" so it ejects. You will have to service the equipment to fix this.
