Cleaning and oiling the B 435, B 475 QE, B 480 and B 485

How often do you recommend doing a thorough cleaning of the bernina?When you say regular basis, it's too general.

Dear Dwayne, we recommend that you oil your machine after every 6-8 hours of sewing. A drop of oil every time is enough. This will make sure your machine stays happy and in perfect sewing condition. As for the cleaning: This strongly depends on the type of sewing you do and the materials you use. Usually, it is ok to give the hook and feed-dog area a quick once-over with the brush before oiling.

It looks to me that in the end of this video she never reinserts the bobbin case, she just closes the door and begins sewing. Are you supposed to run the machine without the bobbin case? This is confusing. I’m not a new sewer but I’m new to Bernina.

Hi Margy, thanks for your comment. She is sewing without thread to distribute the oil.

Bonjour, Pour Noël, on m'a offert une machine à coudre BERNETTE série 8 et j'aimerai voir des tutos explicatifs de points, pieds presseur, comment mémoriser un point ou une série de lettres… Elle est tout de même "un peu" compliquée et le manuel n'est pas très clair. J'ai cherché sur le net mais je n'ai rien trouvé. Je ne pense pas être la seule dans ce cas…
