This is a great video! Have a Deluxe 28 SHO and carb is identical. Yesterday got it out to prep for a storm coming in. Replaced gas and it still wouldn’t go. Removed and cleaned the carb. Took me 2hrs total with your tutorial video and it’s running now. Thanks man!

John, that’s great to hear! Glad you found this helpful!

Pretty much all carbs are identical…there really isn’t much difference between them.

I'm not very handy, but was able to take apart, clean😃 and rebuild the carb and get my Arien working in 3 hours. Your hints on using a wire brush saved a ton of time. Thanks !!!!!!!

Well done! Thanks for doing such a very though job showing how to clean every port on the carburetor; details that other videos tend to miss. Obviously, if any one ports of the carburetor is plugged or dirty, while it may start, will never run correctly. Thanks again for providing the guidance necessary for me to repair my Ariens Snowblower.

Awesome video. Was able to follow and apply all that you noted. Turns out the piece with all the holes was all unclogged , so was the plastic piece that you needed the steel brush for. My issue appeared to be the very fine thin spring loaded rod that hooks in, the one next to the linkage cable. That rod was unhooked somehow and I think it prevents the choke from closing(?). Anyway I drained the gas, cleaned all the carb parts with carb cleaner being I had it disassembled. I reassembled and rehooked the thin rod and now it starts first try. Thanks again for posting your video and saving me a bundle.

This video is highlighting an extreme case, most out there will only need to pull the bowl and clean the main jet.

If your engine only runs with the choke on your “idle jet needs cleaning. If it won’t run at all it means your main jet needs cleaning. You don’t necessarily need to follow all these steps. However this is a very informative video.

At a certain point. But there was a steady drippy leak with the machine just sitting there untouched.

Neighbor friend buys carbs for his machine every year or two. I use straight gas ( non ethanol) for all my equipment and after over 20 years, carbs are all OEM original. It ain't all that tough.

Wtf is non oxy gas? I think you’re referring to non ethanol gas…

Rule number one you never use an impact to screw the high-speed back in it’s only brass you’ll strip it I sort of made me cringe
@Duby4life9 ай бұрын
That’s a great point, Steve. Thank you. It’s funny though. The first take on this, I used the impact very gently because I was worried about breaking, stripping or over-tightening. I actually under tightened-I realized it because I had a leak and gas poured out of the carb bowl-and had to come back (off video) and tighten things up with a ratchet.

@@Duby4lifeThat is the best non-answer (self justification) I’ve seen. Regardless you produced a very informative video.

Try and use non-oxy gas if you can. When you're done blowing, turn the fuel off and let it run out the fuel in the line and the bowl. That way there's no fuel to evaporate and leave all that crap behind that you had to clean out. If you leave the fuel on it will continue to fill and evaporate, fill and evaporate until it has evaporated all the gas out of the tank and leave the mess. Just a thought.
@Duby4life9 ай бұрын
Thanks Dave! Yes that is a good thought. This was more for the common man since not everyone knows where the closest place to get non-ethanol fuel is. But yes, you are right on. Thanks for watching and for your comment!
