Good fix, cleaning the jets helps as does using that small wire inside the carb where there are also tiny little holes that mix the fuel and air. Ethanol free gas is the best thing for these machines, keeps the carb a lot cleaner.

That bowl gasket only has one purpose and ice to keep the gas from coming out it doesn’t make it run any better has no air affect

I prepped the snowblower this year and did not have to use it once. It was 60F today.

My model is a bit newer and has a different carb. Mine was surging and I went directly to the main jet in the float bowl and cleaned it. It still surged and I thought it was the governor and decided it couldn't be that and gave up. I figured there must be an air mixture jet like motorcycles do but couldn't find it. This video helped me locate that jet. Although it was in a different location facing the front, that was the culprit. Cleaned it with the wife's sewing needle and compressed air. Surging gone, runs good as new bring on winter.

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for posting this. My 824 is hunting [surging] at idle and running poorly and I imagine its probably the same issue. This will be my first time doing work on any kind of carburetor, so any additional tips would be appreciated. You video makes the concepts easy enough to understand. Do you have the parts numbers for the floater bowl carb kit? Thanks again.

Could you please give me advice on my Ariens snowblower , There was a chunk of ice that prevented the impeller from rotating ,I kept squeezing the handle on the handle lever then smoke came out of the side, I stopped cleared all the ice out now the impeller doesnt move at all, the engine runs fine and the the tires rotate good as well, I can only use it as a plow,, could you please tell me what I broke? Thank you

I think this is the manual. apache.ariens.com/manuals/024532.pdf On page 12 it shows the belt part numbers. You don't have an authorized Ariens dealer near you? I would call and they would know what belt you need if you are going to attempt the repair yourself. I hope your not in the path of the current snow storm. This one is missing New England this time.

+sissy rahrah Your issue also may just be that the "shear pin" snapped. This is what happens to prevent damage to the auger drive system. I believe that Ariens includes extra shear pins (they look like bolts) when you buy their snowblower. Here is a link to instructions on replacing them: www.jackssmallengines.com/diy/replacing-a-shear-pin-on-an-ariens-two-stage-snow-blower/ PS: If you don't have replacement shear pins, DON'T just use a bolt that fits. Shear pins break for a reason. The damage that would be caused if the shear pins didn't break would set you back a bunch of money.

In the last couple years you can get a whole new carb off amazon/ eBay $12-20. Just toss it on and go . Save the old one for parts.

That's not all of the parts.... New york gardener....where's the air/heat box that is suppose to be around the muffler and over the carb??? To help keep the carb warm and from freezing. Check with your dealer.

I don't recall the part number. You have to locate the part number on your engine to get the right part. An authorized service shop near me was selling the rebuild kit for my engine model number. I could not start the snowblower for the first storm of the year and decided to just install a new carburetor for $80 and clean the old one later for a spare

I just found the receipt with the part numbers on it. The repair kit is part number TEC632760B and the carburetor bowl is STE525806. The cost was $17.91 and $6.52. I just changed the carburator this time for $80 and it's all set for this winter. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZoGZpIp5fZiHmac
