Hard tops are nice in winter, because you can run through regular car washes. Benefit of soft tops is never being locked out... Just unzip a window!

Just a heads up copper plugs will give you the best burn. Those others are just coated with iridium to make them last longer. But coppers will always give you the best burn that’s what I run in all mine they’re cheaper even if you do have to replace them more often

415,000 miles on my TJ that I bought new in late 1996. I had to change the mildly leaky oil pan gasket. I lowered the oil pan and could not believe how clean the ancient engine is. Though I really did not need the valve cover gasket, I changed it anyway because I ordered it in a kit. The valve train was also nearly spotless. I attribute this to oil change every 3000 miles. I also change the transmission gear grease every late November before the cold arrives. The differential gear grease is changed every 50,000 miles. Every time brakes needed to be changed, a four wheel brake flush is done. I play hard with my beloved Stargazer. However, the following day I always clean everything inch extremely carefully. This is my last vehicle. I hate modern cars. They offer nothing I want. Thus, I am the mechanic, the detailer the tyre technician, the electrician, the body technician. Nobody is allowed to touch my beloved outside of taking a ride.

@@jamesdodson9417She now has, 446,0000 miles. I used Valvoline in only what was suggested in the owner's manual for the first 150,000 miles, which is 10W30 Jurassic era motor oil, right from the T. Rex. After 150,000 miles, the infamous seasonal oil weight change tradition started, 10W30 for autumn and winter, 10W40 for spring and summer. I also substituted 1 quart of automatic transmission fluid for a quart of oil on all oil changes. I also switched to Valvoline High Mileage Synthetic Blend. The T. Rex sauce got joined with 20th century goodies. At 200,000 miles, autumn and winter are still Valvoline 10W30. But, spring and summer are now 15W40 or 20w50 depending on the workload. The substitution of one quart of oil with a quart of Mercon / Dexron III automatic transmission fluid still goes on, except when running 20w50 which will have two quarts substitution of Mercon / Dexron III. The old AMC 242ci I6 loves my oil change abominations.

you got this Jeep for 2k?!? Congrats man! very hard to find TJs under 6k where I am. I got my 1998 Jeep Wrangler in 2019 for 4500. Rebuilt from the frame up so basically no rust, and had 110k miles when I first got it. I have a 4.0 engine and these TJs are built to last! I'll deff keep in mind about seafoam and potentially do it to my TJ in the future

That bottle is for the crankcase or the fuel take they make a difference can for the intake by putting that stuff in the intake only parts are affected is the top end meaning the top of the pistons and valves your also supposed to fog the engine shut it off and let it sit for 15 mins then take it out and drive it at high rpm
@SmokinMonkeyOG4 жыл бұрын
If you watched the video I actually mentioned all of that and I did wait the 15min..... the spray can is for non experienced people it says so right on the can. This is the same product that’s in the can just in liquid not aerosol. The spray would do the same job and I did add it the gas tank if you watched the video. The crank case I also explained why I did not put in the sea foam in the oil yet.

Not sure about the rear wiper (new blade maybe?), but if you go in all the way with the nozzle then pull it out about an inch and start pumping, the gas will keep flowing until she's full. Somewhere in there is the g spot...🤭

Ya sometimes it’s okay with the entire nozzle sometimes you gotta use just the tip lol 😂

beautiful vehicle. My 2000 tj is at 163k miles, have the tub off the frame doing a resto ;) Oh and don't let your tj frame rot. Get some diesel in there and you will be good to go

Unplugging the battery terminal will do nothing to turn your vehicle off. Unplug the fuel pump relay, or fuse.

After watching 5 of these seafoam videos i feel i should warn ⚠️ everyone. First the smoke is very toxic please do this out side do not breathe that smoke second they do make a spray can that works so much better when spraying it into the throttle the poor cans more for a gas treatment. ❤

The gas pump handle issue is related to ethanol in the gasoline. The TJ gas tank has an over-flow valve in the tank where the fill tube enters. This is basically a ball in a cage type thing. It is supposed to block off the fill tube if the Jeep rolls over and prevents splash back when filling the tank. The problem is the plastic used for this valve is susceptible to swelling when exposed to ethanol... then the ball doesn't move anymore. This can have two effects: 1. Like in your case, the valve is partially open so the fill is slow allowing gasoline to back up the fill tube and shut off the handle. 2. Which is my case, the valve is fully open so when the tank is almost full the handle shuts off and a bubble of air forces gas out of the fill tube and all down the side of my jeep. The fixes I have seen online require dropping the tank, removing the valve and sanding it to make the ball move freely again.
@SmokinMonkeyOG4 жыл бұрын
Shit.... well I guess I will leave it untill I have a serious problem. Glad it’s not throwing up all over the Jeep yet lol thanks for the information!!
@Leatherkid014 жыл бұрын
@@SmokinMonkeyOG if after the fix u want to avoid or reduce ethanol ...canadian tire gas bars and Shell mid grade has 5% ethanol and they both have ethanol free 91...and yes, Ethanol blended gasoline has less energy vs non ethanol gas. Maybe Alberta is slightly higer above sea level and their gas dont have ethanol in it like Ontario....not sure. Just found your channel and subbed 😃

If I find the right angle to hold it on which is usually about 90 degrees it will fill all the way I just filled it 3/4 this time on purpose to save a lil bit of money lol

@@SmokinMonkeyOG Scotty Kilmer has a video about foggy windows, and I tried it myself. Works good, just clean them, polish them inside and out, don't wax them though. The polish will make them so clean that fog doesn't have any contaminants to adhere to. Or if your windshild is really pitted and dirty, you can use rubbing compound before the polish. Also if you really want to take it to the next level, use a high speed buffer on it. Visibility will improve tremendously, even in the rain.💪🏻😉
