Never use highly perfumed products when trying to sell your house. It turns any prospective buyers off. They will think that you are hiding something like mold

I agree! Scented candles are what we see most and I always try to smell what they are hiding.

You are going to regret putting baking soda on your carpet. When you finally call a pro to clean your carpet it will look great while they are cleaning it. The next day your carpet will look like it got snowed on. Please don't blame the carpet cleaners. You will have to pay a lot to get it all out.

Depends. If you put too much yea. But you really shouldn't vinegar and baking soda in large portions or for aged stins. If you're just brushing it to loosen the fibers again and get out lingering odor before vacuuming it, no it's fine. If you regularly shampoo & condition your carpet with a pro machine you own occasionally already, no it's fine.

Or just pay $150 to professional carpet cleaner with $70,000 of equipment who does this all year long :) its not just about the machines, but to get dirt out of the carpet it needs to be extracted. You can also mess up carpet if you use wrong solutions. So, many people skip cleaning carpet for 10 years, or clean by themselves and than when they call professional cleaner sometimes its too late. Carpet as any floor needs to be be cleaned regularly. Usually you want to clean carpet once a year or every six month depending how much traffic you have. But, my best advise to people is to take their shoes off at home. Most of dirt, germs and damage to any floor is coming from your shoes. Your house will be cleaner and fresher if you follow basic rules. I am a pro at carpet cleaning. If your carpet is brand new or you need drying time to be under 2 hours than get dry cleaning. Dry cleaning doesn't clean well as steam. Steam cleaning is most popular, because it gets best results. Also, many people don't vacuum carpet regularly. Vacuuming carpet is supper important as it removes dry dirt, food and dust (if you wondered why people complain about dust) The more you vacuum your carpet or hardwood floors less cleaning needs to be done later

Steam cleaning is a complete waste of money. I have had it done twice and it was terrible.
