I just got done listening / watching this as I'm cleaning someone else's home. I just want to say how much I love you telling your story. And I love your storytelling abilities. If you are jealous of people who can organize well, just know that I am just as jealous of the way that you can tell stories and articulate thoughts. That has always been my biggest struggle. So, it's just nice to recognize that everyone has their strengths and weaknesses, and we are all in this together and can benefit from each other's strengths. I haven't had a chance to respond to your email about when we are getting together, but I will when I get home tonight after this cleaning today. Love you, Mira! Thank you for this video!

Aww Mira, you touched my heart with the story of why you wear a mask. I am looking forward to you gaining the confidence to show your beautiful face. Eyes are the window to your soul. We see in your eyes the person you are. You have no reason for shame, your predominant emotion should be pride in what you are achieving in your home. Bonnie is one of the best. Wish she could bring Mack from midwest magic cleaning with her. He is great too

I am amazed that all of the initiative and work involved in decluttering your house us 100% your own- you don’t have someone pushing you to do it and apparently you’ve also not had any type of therapy to deal with it. From what I know, this is so, so rare. I’m so impressed. It seems like your living room may be just about finished? But also it seems like it’s starting to make you uneasy. I love Bonnie and I know she will help you whip the kitchen into shape in no time- but this may be a good time to see if you can find a therapist to help you deal with the anxiety so you DONT get derailed going forward. Also, don’t worry about what your viewers think about your masks. As long as you are comfortable, do what works best for you.

I also had sepsis. It really changed my life and how I thought as well, forced me to retire and I’ve been gradually decluttering the boxes and boxes of stuff we had. Glad to see Bonnie will be there to help as you tackle your kitchen, I hope there are fewer decisions to be made, just grunt work to get through, though nothing is ever easy. Day by day is a good standard to use, I hope it quiets those critical voices that live in our heads. Wishing you the best!

What an awesome collab that will be with Bonnie! I watch her too :) It's funny, I was thinking if you would do a Q&A video and then this popped up. I was thinking if you ever need a break from decluttering but still want to do a video, I would love to watch you put together a scrapbook page, or rank Unsolved Mystery episodes, or I watch some of the tarot channels too so even a tarot read. Anyhoo, I'm glad you shared your story with us and started a channel. I hope you and the pups have a great week!

Yayyyy Bonnie said she wants to do a collaboration with you. That will be great. I think what you're doing is amazing. My cleaning songs are many, the first one that comes to mind is UB40. When you said about sitting with your purchases around you, I have done the same sort of thing. Lay them all out on the bed and look through them one by one. I think it was because I didn't get to buy much of anything, so when I did it was special. I think as you get older your tastes can change. I used to like ornaments, and still do but not many because I think of the cleaning of them. I'm not good at walking and can be unsteady on my feet, so I need the floors clear. I still have my keepsakes tucked away. One thing that did me good and helped not to worry too much about "stuff" is when I escaped from my ex husband, I had an hour to grab what I could and get out. I literally started with little more than the clothes on my back and it made me realise it is just stuff, and I can't even remember most of what it was now. Mira you have a lovely laugh and thank you for sharing your story with us. See you next time 👍😀

Thanks for pointing out the fact that you were having a panic attack in you last video. I don’t think I would’ve known had you not said so. Calling attention to that fact shows just how brave you are to attempt this cleanup, highlights your willingness to be vulnerable, and helps to normalize the mental health challenges that so many of us suffer from, including myself. Anxiety can be crippling, but I am so inspired by you pushing through it to keep striving towards your goals. Thanks so much for sharing your journey with us!

everyone is telling you not to be ashamed - I'll say you don't need to be ashamed of being ashamed. We all have/do/experience things in life that are shameful, often its not our fault or our choice, but it's still our shame, and it's there for a reason - it helps us change. So don't be ashamed of being ashamed. it's OK - but also, be proud of how you are reacting and responding to that feeling. You're dealing with it and you're whole personality is such a treasure that I'm so glad you are sharing your journey with us.

I totally understand-I had a similar experience as a child on top of loving my things…. My dad always said I got it from him (but mom was that way too) .. emotional attachment to inanimate objects. I worried about hurting their (the objects) feelings, about shirking my responsibilities to them to care for them… intense stuff. Even now I struggle-and I love leaving gifts in their packaging to admire, and be surrounded by purchases. You are not alone. You are doing fantastic, your channel is real, and heartwarming, humorous, and it’s my new favorite! You have a cheering section here in Michigan 🎉 Go Mira!🎉

I lived most of my life shame bound about my many perceived flaws....I very much hope you find your way free of it as I for the most part have. Best advice I can offer is to start treating yourself as you do others, with all the love and care and thoughtfulness. My parents were hoarders, and I was well on my way once, and still have it in me should I ever let myself go there. My parents were also wonderful hardworking people, and had no reason for the shame they felt save becoming accustomed to self judgment and comfortable with their own constant negative self talk. I'm very impressed with how you are doing what you are doing, and I very much hope you're taking the time to pat yourself on the back for doing it. However this journey needs to look for you to be able to keep going, that's okay. Love you, and know that we are all out here pulling for you. ❤

Have you ever looked at maximalist home design? You might love it! It’s all about surrounding yourself with stuff, but also treating it with honor and respect. Not piled, but decorated on the walls, and placed with intention. Things aren’t piled like clutter mountain, but every square inch is covered items you love. You might find a lot of joy in this and decorating all of your vertical spaces. Maybe even painting your walls brighter colors . You are doing great, and I think that, even if you were to decorate as a maximalist, it would still required all the declutter you are doing now. The main difference would be that your items would be visually displayed like in a store or a museum. I am the same person who commented about how pausing to decorate with some of your stuff might make you feel more surrounded by it and calm your nervous system. Your tarot card is a perfect example of that. I love it.!❤

I think that maybe your feeling of anxiety when you clear a space, is the same anxiety I feel as a minimalist when someone clutters or disorganizes something in my home. Living with three other people, that happens alot 😅 but I do regocnize the anxiety of things getting out of order out of control. I suspect the opposite thing is sparkling your anxiety, but in a sense it's a loss of control over a situation that gets me every time.

My advise, not that you need it, to look at the end results of living in a clean and orderly home. Look forward to having guests visit instead of fretting. Look at the safety you will have when it is clutter free. You have already got a big start on it. Your button collection is so cool. When you feel down go read your buttons. 😊😊😊😊😊😊. So one of my coworkers told me that her new dog gave birth to puppies. I’ve been wanting a dog but I don’t want to pay rent on it. I feel part of my problem is I’m lonely and depressed which I been like this for years. Yes I need to get it done. I need the determination to get it started. Now if the any of the puppies is a boy then I definitely will need to get it done. Though I found your channel this weekend, I had plans of getting certain things done over the weekend. It didn’t happen, however, I’m okay with changing my Scentsy warmers and a few other things. After coming home from work tonight, I decided I’ll start on part of my new channel content. I can totally understand with the cleaning as a kid. It would take me all day to clean my bedroom as a kid. I had to go through every single little thing. My mom would come in and say this needs to get done. You don’t need that.

Your heartfelt honesty is wonderful. You are doing great. My personal mantra comes from Sarah Connor in the Terminator, no future but what you make. You are making a great future for yourself. Rock on!

It is looking so good. You are really making progress. I've been catching stuff up around my home too. Now have it to where I can do a daily clean. Just did my bathroom, bedroom living room and dining area and kitchen. It was wipe everything down and run the vacuum and broom and mop. Tomorrow is the porch, front bedroom, that is just sweep, vacuum, dust, and mop. Plan on working two hours on garden, and then working on camper we are renovating. I need to do fiberglass work on outside body. We brought a 1984 burro fiberglass camper. Thank you so much for jump starting me. Things haven't taken as long as thought it would. still have garage to do and shed. Took me one whole day to clean inside of car and wash her. When it gets cooler will finish painting the outside of house and major yard work. I am in Florida so are gardens are now and it's been too hot to do much other then cut grass and run a weed eater. Thank you so much. I need to thin out some areas but just getting it caught up was a lot of work. I usely work with no noise but when I do listen to music it is a variety and also, lots of Christian music.

Mira, I have learned that shame is a useless emotion. I hope you’re learning to be proud of your progress. Forget those things which are behind. Press on in your journey. I’m glad you’re getting some help.

You are such a great storyteller Mira! I was really transported with you when you described your history to now. You have very clear motivation and understanding of what got you here, I know you will succeed! Getting some help with your kitchen is going to be amazing and will keep your motivation up. I cannot wait to see the rest of your journey and anticipating that full room reveal of the living room! ❤

You are doing great! I'm glad you will be letting Bonnie help you, she has a kind heart and is completely nonjudgmental. When I clean, I like to blast loud fast punk rock. It gets the blood pumping! My favorites are the Ramones and the Clash.
