"You deserve better than a shuffling life". What fantastic sentament. I think that's a very human thing to do. Get used to shuffling around things. Thank you for the wonderful video Mira
@susanduncan84856 ай бұрын
Hoarder’s Heart boxes things she’s not ready to let go of yet. She revisits the boxes once or so a year and if there’s anything she’s ready to let go of she’s pulls it out and discards it. It maybe it would work to box clothes you can’t/don’t currently wear (like you did with some t-shirts) and don’t waste emotional energy on forcing a decision now. A stack of totes is less of a pain than piles of falling clothes. Then you can live out of your closet and dresser(s). ❤️

Nice to get a walkway to your bed happening Mira! Living alone I’ve got into the habit of every time I stand up I look around and pick up one thing to return to it’s place: there’s always a coffee cup to return to the kitchen as I drink tea and coffee all day. There’s usually tissues to put in the bin or packaging and any washing to throw down the back stairs as that is near the laundry. I don’t even think about it anymore and that habit keeps my house tidy.

I adopted the same method a few years ago. I call it "the waiter job" because a good waiter never does a round empty handed. I still live in chaos and clutter because I have way too much stuff but the day to day tasks are, almost, under control.

Great job. It might help to keep the decluttering out of the bedroom. What I mean is to bag or box up the area and move to another area, like a kitchen table. I find nothing can affect my day more than my bedroom floor. If I wake up and can walk across my room without stepping on something, I feel like I have my life together. Also it is much safer for night time trips to the bathroom. Anecdote: I love when its about to thunderstorm because I inherited my Nana's ritual when she knew one was rolling in; Step 1, tidy up (even though her house was always immaculate) so you didn't trip on anything if there was a power cut in the night. Step 2, get a torch ready (nowadays I charge my phone but I do still keep her wind up torch in a safe place) Step 3, unplug everything in case it spikes (I don't do this but I have surge protection on everything) Step 4, Turn on the hallway light, so you know if you lose power Step 5, sit down with a cup of tea (that you made before you unplugged the kettle and fridge) and enjoy the storm ❤

Inch by inch, you're getting it done! Suggestion: Use the white dresser for your socks and leggings and put the shoes under the bed. Then use the cabinet with the doors for your collectibles. The bookshelf could probably be repurposed in your scrapbook room.
@isabellerininger62496 ай бұрын
Great video! Small steps are fantastic. Being ready to tackle an area is key-it’s good to pace yourself. 🥰 A random suggestion… since the white dresser is in the room anyway, but empty, it would be awesome to organize all your tshirt collection in it. Bonnie has a great folding technique that would allow you to see all T-shirts at once in each drawer. You could then wait to work on those until you’re ready and they would have a safe home in the meantime. It could really lighten the mental load for your closet situation and soothe the anxiety. (I have anxiety too)

My brain would have me jumping around from the walkway to the top of the dresser to the bed to the nightstand to under the bed and I would have gotten exactly nothing done 😂. Plus if I walked out of the room as you did with the O2 machine, I would have been distracted by something out there and would have forgotten what I started out doing in the first place! Way to keep it simple… I hope you are enjoying your shuffle-free access to and from your bed 👍. Keep it up!

Fantastic job! 🥳👏👏👏 It looks great! You’re right about the sideways shuffle - the rest of my house is in pretty good shape (except the back part of the basement), but the space along the side of the bed collects all sorts of stuff that’s put there ‘temporarily’ to be out of the way. You’ve inspired me to go through it so I can walk rather than shuffle!

Before and after is a perfect illustration of how much just a little bit of time and a few feet makes such a huge difference. I thought of you the other day I had a water bottle which I don’t normally have. I’m a Crystal Light and Snapple person and coffee, but anyway, I got off the couch, I had my Snapple bottle, I had my coffee cup, paper plate from my lunch and a paper towel. Whenever I get up I try to pick up everything and I dropped the water bottle on the floor, and I looked at it and I thought of Mira, so I picked it up right away. 💦 💧

Mira!! I have cats and a CPAP machine and had to replace my tubing the first week I had it bc of little bite holes. I found a long zippered cover for the tubing on Amazon. It is not loud when it moves around when you are sleeping but I think the feel of it and the colour of it maybe ( it's bright blue) seem to have put off the cats. I have never had another hole it the tubing since using it. It was very affordable. I think under 20. I also kind of cover up the tubing with pillows on the bed too, so out of sight out of mind. I think you can also get hangers to hang the tubing but I knew that would be an invitation for my little babies. Hope this is helpful. Those tubes are $$$$.

Yeah, you did it! Getting this done is worth a big BRAVO 👏 🎉👏 🎉👏. One area at a time is the same way I do. Keeps you motivated and isn't too overwhelming. I guess if you're not a professional or at least an addicted/passionate cleaner you should always work on smaller projects. Cleaning a whole day wouldn't work for me either. Besides my dishes on a daily basis I try to manage one task on the other rooms, not counting the laundry which is always done when the laundry basket is full which means it's filling the washing machine. Today is grocery shopping on my list which became a separate task on its own as I need to check prices and quality before leaving the house to get to the different shops. What about closing the bedroom door to keep the "chewer" away from your valuable machine when you're not inside? 🤣 Alternatively move the machine to a non accessible place for him (higher position/ inside a box or drawer) but to be honest I won't be able to do this every day. 😉 So nice to see the poodles playing around and you meeting others. Enjoy your own patio area 💖

You sound much better this week. ❤ Your commentary makes me laugh. Are you relieved when you find something that’s ruined, such as a swimsuit with crunchy elastic, because it’s an easy decision to throw away? Sometimes I think I put off organizing things in the hope that they will either get ruined or that I will have less emotional attachment to them.
