cleaning or replacement carburettor hedge trimmer STIHL HS

This bush cutter was not started for more than a year, and fuel tank was not emptied. As a result, the carburetor was very dirty. Fortunately, after cleaning, the machine started on and operates normally. This is one of the few times when cleaning does the job, but most of the times require a carburetor replacement.

When I open up a carb it gets a new set of diaphragms, gaskets, screen, lifter, needle, etc. in other words a rebuild kit. it may also get cooked in my ultra sonic cleaner depending on what I find when I open it up. I do not like going in one another time to fix what I should have fixed the first time.

If you have rebuilding kit that is great. When you open carburetor, inspect all diaphragms and if ok no need to change it. Inspect that diaphragm which push idle, it must be very soft.

@@tusheeNaydenov I did and did not put a new set of diaphragms in it. Just cleaned it with carb cleaner and compressed air and put it back together. I had a RB -161 sitting on my work bench, though. The Stihl S 169A 13 LA ( number stamped on the carb) calls for a RB 161 rebuild kit. Those Zama kits are pricy for C1Q carbs. I will save it for another C1Q carb.

All due respect for taking out the carburetor and taking it apart, but making a video with zero explain- ation as to what to spray and not to spray with carb cleaner is a waste of time for viewers. Unless this be a joke video.
