Oh Emma, I seriously wish I lived near you. I'd have your shed ship shape in no time 😂 I'm not scared of spiders of any size, and I'm brilliant at de-cluttering (just ask my daughter 😄) you are always entertaining but I don't like seeing you scared. Please make a New Years resolution to tidy your shed weekly 🙏 good find of the carrot planter. I will be thinking of you with the film crew. You'll be amazing 👏

Hi Emma, loving your vlogs. May I suggest buying some large plastic storage boxes with sealable lids that can stack for your shed. They are great fof storing everything from netting, bird food, pots, plant feeds etc. It keeps everything in order, and keeps spiders out. I know they're plastic, but they last for years, and so useful. I have smaller ones for my seeds and labels, and larger ones for my fleeces, tools etc. You can label them for each item. Just a thought.

Next spring you could plant sunflowers in eat plastic pot, and give them out to other allotment people :) a adhd tip for your shed is to get yourself a trash can/ bin for the corner . Put a bag in it and then when you need to just shove a bag in the shed you can put it right in the can :)

I cleaned my shed out last week. I took everything out and swept the roof the walls the floor and then got my hand held vac and got into every corner. I taped up all the holes and painted the whole inside including the floor with some leftover white paint. I’ve put everything in order of use and I love it. I’m so scared of spiders like you I need to be able to see them lurking rather than them jumping out on me! I even bought some peppermint oil and put it on a load of cotton wool balls and placed them all over the shed. Good luck

I think all sheds look like yours. I don't have one, I have a corner in the greenhouse. It's not that I like them any more, I just don't have the energy to give them. Also, brooms with loooong handles are the perfect eay to deal with them!

Emma, spiders hate diatomaceous earth. It's basically just powdered calcium. Maybe you can buy a big bag at the garden center and make lines and piles of it in your shed. In front of the door sill. On the table. On the windowsill. Even throw a big handful on the spider. It does need to be swept up and replaced periodically.

It might be useful to have those long barbecue tongs in the shed and you can use it to pick stuff up. I use one because, like you, i am terrified of spiders and really grossed out with slugs. So i use them to pry around and pick things up rather than use my hands 😁

Great video, Emma!! I truly understand your fear of spiders. I had one thrown in my long hair when I was a teenager and I've been bitten twice over the years and they give me the heebie jeebies when they get in my greenhouse. The ones in my greenhouse are huge and knocking their webs down constantly has not worked so I've had to resort to extreme measures. I don't know if you have them where you are, but I've started putting down mice/rat sticky traps around in my greenhouse and it's working...one sticky trap alone caught 27 baby spiders.

Nah. Get the kids to do it. Bribery is perfectly okay in this situation. 😉 I don’t have a problem with spiders, but the (really rather beautiful and useful) hornets turned my shed into a no-go area for months this year. They only attack if they feel that the nest is threatened, but I’m not entirely sure what constitutes me looking threatening. I’m now faced with a filthy, plant pot strewn midden to clear out. I feel your pain.
