Cleaning the interior and fixing some stuff along the way! (1984 Single cab aka Ransporter)

This week I'm going to continue on fixing up my 1984 VW Transporter aka the Ransporter! I want to clean the Interior, fix some wiring issues, clean and replace some parts in the heater box and get a good overview how the floor looks.

Check out the bushing on the brake and clutch pedal while you have the dash out. Just a tip, you always try to take a dent out from the side it went in. Great stuff as always.

I would use the old door cards as a template to make painted aluminium replacements. I dont like rubber floor mats, they let moisture build up and hide rust.

Great idea! I'm not sure if it's going to be Aluminium or wood at this point. what would recommend instead the rubber floor mats?

@@OllarisGarage, Some sort of clear coat or paint protector. just something that lets you see whats going on. Wood door cards will rot out just as fast as cardboard, unless you encapsulate them.

Great video. Are replacement floor pans available for the transporter or are you cutting the bad spots out and welding in new metal?

Sadly they are not available. I could by a couple of replacement fenders for a bus but they need to be modified to fit a pickup. For the rest i plan (try) make my own pieces.
