One of the most frequent questions I get is how to clean this oven! It is small and tight to get in there and do some scrubbing. Being an air fryer, it also blows the grease all around the sides as it cooks. So I am finally getting my hands dirty and doing some scrubbing. Join me as we figure out together how to clean this little oven.

If you have watched any our other Ninja vids, you know we love our 'toaster oven'. But it is so much more and we just upgraded from the 8-in-1 (SP101) to the new 14-in-1 (SP350) which sports dual heat, a smart thermometer, and a sear crisp tray! And of course an increase in interior height. We use it for just about everything and invite you to learn and use yours more effectively.

Thank you so much Len! It was hard work. I tried to clean mine with Barkeeper’s friend and Easy off, it left some discoloration on the inner frame. The tray I had to replace and it wasn’t expensive, they gave me some discount too. I ended up using a parchment paper on the tray and on the baking griddle at all times, it doesn’t affect quality of cooking, but it is much easier for me to replace parchment paper sheets than clean the entire thing. And periodically I just remove crumbs because my husband also likes bagels. It works for us. Next time I definitely will try Mister clean and SOS too. Thanks again, great video ❤️!

@LenBanks just a helpful tip I have found that spraying a little Goo Gone on the tray and then using an abrasive scrubber either plastic or steel wool it comes right off! Then you do need to follow up with some soap and water to remove the residue Left Behind from the goo gone, but let me tell you this has been a life-changer

@MrAndMrsBanks
@MrAndMrsBanks Жыл бұрын
I honestly don't know if they can be removed. Please be cautious if you proceed. It seems to me the elements are some form of glass and I would hate to see them break or worse explode. I personally would not even attempt this. Just take the oven into a space with good ventilation and crank up the heat to burn off whatever spilled as best you can. And just in case you didn’t do this, in the future use the sear plate as a drip tray when cooking on the middle rack. That will help to prevent spill getting on the bottom elements.

I tend to agree with you. I like the way it cooks, but mine is a baked on greasy nightmare! There is no way to cook any kind of meat in it without the grease splattering everywhere. And mine leaks the grease out onto the countertop, even without flipping it up. I am sure that there is grease between the inside wall of the oven and the outer shell also. I am going to try to clean it and then just use it for toasting and /or baking. I bought the Ninja Foodi 7-in-1 FlexBasket Air Fryer with 11-qt MegaZone to use when cooking meat since it has the nonstick coated drawer. It should be MUCH easier to clean.

I air fry chicken thighs once a week & attempt a good wipedown as the fat splatters all over the inside. After several uses air frying chicken, a lot of rendered fat is draining out of the unit on the side the controls are on in front as well as draining from the right rear corner where the pivot henge to flip the unit up for storage. I assume the internal fan is drawing in the fat. Unfortunately, there does not appear to be a "fat collector" or a trap door behind the control panel. Anyone else have this problem?

Great video. Magic sponge for me might be the way to go. I've been testing out baking soda as a paste; Koh cleaner and they worked to varying degrees however not entirely. So I had a brainwave. I use denture tabs to clean a range of items. What I found was disolve 3 denture tabs in a sink of hot water and place the crumb tray into the water for around 2-3 hours and then (depending on the size of your sink) turn the crumb tray around for another 2-3 hours. Then wipe off and whalla the crumb tray comes up like brand new. My challenge is how to get the inside of the oven cleaner (not bad however if I don't get the grease grime off now it will be harder to clean later). So what I've done is filled a bowl of water from the sink of water with the denture tab and wipe this down - with varying degree of success. So next step has been to soak a chux wipe into the denture tab water and stick this to the sections of the oven where the most grease grime is. Will let you know how this works. However for the grease grime on the crumb tray it brought the tray up like brand new. Hope this assists. (PS: If you have those oven mats which gets grease and grime on. Depending on how baked in the grime is I again used the same steps as above and Koh definitely helped with a good scrubbing brush. Am also going to place this into the sink of denture tabs water and see whether it lifts the remaining grime off the mat.

Here's an excellent cleaning tip for many items. It might work for the crumb tray, but don't know about in the oven. In a shallow dish, lay your crumb tray, ad boiling water to JUST cover it and then sprinkle Cream of Tartar liberally. Swirl a bit, but make sure the CoT ends up ON the tray. Allow to cool completely. Even to evaporate enough so the crumb tray top is dry. Then scrub with warm water and whatever scrubber tickles your fancy.
