Thanks for the video Jim. I just finished one of the two units on my camper after watching your video. One thing I ran into that might be worth mentioning, after buttoning up everything and turning on the unit, there was residual water and cleaning solution dripping out of the inside vent. Luckily I'd left the tub in place on the bed that is there to catch anything that dripped during cleaning. I ended up moving the mattress of the wooden bed foundation completely and placed a plastic bag under the tub as well as there was a bit of spray coming from the vent as well. Once the dripping and spray is gone I'm going to have to clean the wardrobe mirrors where a lot of the spray landed. Kind of surprised me because I only used a spray bottle to rinse the coils and there wasn't that much water.

Thank you for the video. I got a large fixer upper pop up camper last year for something to do during covid. I fixed everything on it and we’ve been using it (a family of six plus two big dogs)but I wondered if I could clean the AC for better performance for these Georgia hot summers. I watched your vid and our AC works even better now! Thank you!!!!

I am actually living in my 5thw for the last 2 years, and so I am new to all this RV maintenance stuff,,, But I've realized, that I need to , not wait til summer, and then find out , "oops! I should have cleaned that , already" So, that is what brings me to your video, And I've got to say,,, Yours is the best one so far that I've seen, And what I mean by that is, You first start off with some tips ,. Like checking your shoes for rocks . I thought that was smart. I hadn't thought bout that one,. So I will DEFINATLY be checking my bottoms of my shoes ,, Anyways,,,you did a really great job at demonstrating what needs to be done,. You were very thoroughral , and easy to understand and follow along with,,,. (you weren't "all over the place") So I really think you ought to make some more of these "how to" videos ,. If you haven't already . So thanks again for taking the time to make this video

Do "not" use 3 in 1 oil to oil fan. Ether Bering grease or high quality machine oil. 3 in 1 oil turns to sticky varnish over a short period of time. You can get away with that on a door hinge but not a motor. Too much heat and friction.

Trying to fix my sister's rvs ac, looks exactly like yours down to the foam. Replaced the capacitor but it still just hums when turned on. I tried giving the fan a little push and that kicked it on, but it eventually stopped. The entire fan motor area is covered in dust, do you think cleaning it will fix the issue or does it sound like a different problem?
@DIYJIM2 жыл бұрын
Sorry i could not say but cleaning it could not hurt. Maybe the fan motor is going bad.
@ghoohg5512 жыл бұрын
@@DIYJIM Update, hit both ends of the shaft where it connects to the motor with 3in1 oil, starts up just fine but eventually kicks back off. The person my mom had come out to look at it said that it wasn't the motor, so she keeps saying it's not the motor. The only other thing I can think of is that I'm not getting the oil in far enough on the side opposite the fan due to limited spacing.

I live in sand dunes in waynoka ok. Ours is only 2 years old totally rebuild with all new parts. I sprayed mine down because it was a little dirty with all the sand, dust and wind during the winter into spring. It's never had a issue. Been running ours for about 3 weeks now since spraying it down and cranking it back up again for this summer. It's blowing cold and seemed to be cycling normally. But yesterday and today its been turning off but less then a minute turning back on and making a clicking noise more than normal. It's still blowing very cold though. Just cycling way more than normal and clicking... This can't be good right? Any reasons or suggestions as of to why it's acting this way? Thank you!
