Hellos! Been a janitor for 20 years your video is great but I would like to add one thing. I have learned that if you try to teach people in the middle of the floor it will sometimes more than not take off scaring the new user. I know because it happened to me and I would not touch the machine for that whole summer as we scrubbed floors to wax.I learned when teaching someone, to place machine in a corner so when the machine wants to take off there is no where to go. And they don't get scared. They learn to back it out of the corner with out being afraid.

@Lilmiket10002 ай бұрын
Ah good idea. Ive never been scared of them because I knew from using the propane buffer that it wasn't gonna be able to get away from me and I was able to learn easy. but my buddy. Something must've happened to him because he also refuses to go near the thing. I've been trying to get him to learn because we have been just spreading floor stripper with a mop and using the floor scrubber to agitate it and pickup. But this is the better way to strip floors especially in tight spaces. You don't restrip 2 and 3x over again using these in most cases. And they are way more maneuverable and can get up under things.

Thank you SO much for this video! I own a boarding kennel and the tile aisles in our buildings have gotten so gross over the past few years. I rented one of these and almost broke my arm and put my back out trying to fight it to go where I wanted. Then I watch your video and felt like an idiot lol. Thank God I found this! I was doing the equivalent of renting a dolly, strapping a fridge to it and then holding it over my head lol. Instead of wrestling the machine to where I wanted it (im a big dude at 5'11 at 280 pounds), the machine does all the work. I feel foolish, but at least I learned the right way now! Went out and tried it right after watching the video and it's a breeze now! Thanks!

I had to use one of these at work today for the first time and had to learn all of this on my own. No one showed me anything. Just wanted to see if I was missing anything. I found if I sorta twist the handle I can move the machine forwards and backwards too. (Twist left to move forward and right for backwards.) I work in a machine shop and ours had a wire-brush attachment. It's an election year and everything is slowing down so we're doing a deep clean of the whole place.

That was an excellent tutorial. I just picked up a Numatic floor cleaner at an auction and want to use it to clean up a very dirty quarry tile floor. It has some concrete residue left on the surface. I checked the pad of the machine and it has very stiff plastic bristles. What liquid should I be using on the floor while using the machine?
@CleaningequipmentservicesCoUk Жыл бұрын
Hi, thank you for your compliment! There are 5 different types of machine: - Slow speed (up to 200rpm) - For heavy scrubbing - Medium speed (200 - 300rpm) - For light scrubbing/buffing - High speed (300 -800rpm) - For buffing/polishing - Dual/Multispeed (Switcheable) - For scrubbing and buffing - Ultra high speed (800+rpm) - For high gloss light polishing So you need to check the speed of your machine to see if it will do what you need. If you try to polish with a slow machine it won't polish well and if you try to scrub with a high speed machine it will probably keep tripping and eventually burn out. If you are using a brush you will need a slow or medium speed machine. A Janitorial Supplier should be able to advise you on the best chemical for quarry tiles. Some chemicals you can spray on and buff off. Some chemicals require you to put more liquid on the floor which you will need to mop or suck off after with a wet vacuum.

How often should the pad be changed if you buffer once/twice a week?
@CleaningequipmentservicesCoUk5 жыл бұрын
It depends on how large the floor is, how heavy the machine is, how rough the floor is, quality of the pad etc. You can flip the pad over mid use to give you another clean side. Ideally you should remove and rinse the pad after each use. Consider replacing the pad when it is less than 1cm thick

how do you check what speed it is?
@CleaningequipmentservicesCoUk5 жыл бұрын
It depends which model you have. Usually there is a clue in the model number. For example a Nilfisk SDM43/400 is 43cm/400rpm. Victor machines usually say 'standard speed' or 'high speed' on them. In these and other non obvious cases it's usually easiest to google the model followed by 'rpm' to find out the actual speed.

Looking for some advise I am polishing a floor t the minute the same as this video and av give it two coats of polish left it for a couple days then when I am spray buffing with the white pad it’s lifting the polish we’re am I going wrong ? Is the polish not on thick enough
@CleaningequipmentservicesCoUk4 жыл бұрын
Hi John, a white pad shouldn't lift the polish so I would say there is an issue with the polish. You're probably best to speak to a janitorial supplier as they would specialise in the chemical side of things.
