I have used baking soda for years to wash my face. Just put a little in my hands add some water and wash. (I keep a small container with lid in my shower). I do not use any soap products on my face. Have never had a problem with acne or blackheads. I am now 65 years old and get compliments on how good my skin looks.

If you ever break out in hives: run a very warm bath, add an entire small box of baking soda to the water, and just soak for half and hour. Don't rinse or dry yourself with a towel. Sit on the edge of the tub and literally allow yourself to air-dry. Great for any itchy skin condition, including chicken pox (kids don't get that anymore, but I remember mom giving me baking soda baths during the week that I had it as a 6-year-old).

Best facial pore size reducer is baking soda and lemon juice!! A quarter size amount in your hand, a few drops of lemon juice (enuf to make a paste), scrub face in cicular motion. Make sure your face is clean and damp. Let the paste sit on your face for 3 min and rinse. I use this in the shower, less mess. I use this at least 3x per week. Absolutely fantastic results!! Less breakouts. ZERO blackheads. Pores are microscopic now. Seriously a must try!! Very helpful for teenage acne too. Baking Soda is the best deoderizer for laundry too!! I love baking soda!

That's awesome, bicarb soda in my wash did the trick of absorbing smells from the smelliest of clothes 😁 I have used bicarb soda and vinegar to clean my washing machine drum before, and with the eco laundry balls, but never with the detergent too. My favourite bicarb uses are as an abrasive for the sink like you mention, then as a disinfectant when sterilising the jars for jams, and as odour absorber in little fabric baggies anywhere - shoes, the fridge, freezer, smelly car, etc.

@@qwertyzxcv123 I put some vinegar in a spray bottle if the offending area is larger than what a small amount directly from the bottle would cover. Then after either spraying or directly applying a little vinegar, I let it sit for a bit (5-15 min), then I make sure to apply a bit of pressure using paper towels or a rag to really absorb it all back up (the vinegar and the odor/stain). Then the baking soda, then vacuum. It's worked wonders for me!

For at least 30 years I have been using 1 tsp to 1 tbsp of baking soda in 4 oz of water, stir it up, and drink it all at once for acid reflux and heartburn. It works immediately and provides instant relief! I also use it in the shower mixed in my shampoo and body wash, mix with toothpaste and brush my teeth, cleaning the bathroom, kitchen sink, cleaning stove and fridge, cleaning jewelry, keep a small box in the fridge, use it in my swimming pool to raise the alkalinity, and in my laundry. I always use Arm and Hammer baking soda and I get a 15 lb bag at Sam's for only $7.74 and I also buy 3 or 4 small boxes to use in the fridge and change it out about once a month.

Thank you for your helpful ways to use baking soda. I live in Uganda, Africa and am natural and organic with my diet, hygiene, and cleansers. Thankfully baking soda is super easy to find even in Uganda. I am so thankful that baking soda does NOT have aluminum in it. Baking soda has only one ingredient and that is sodium bicarbonate that comes from plant ash. That is what makes it such a great every day product. But baking powder DOES contain aluminum. Baking powder is made of baking soda plus an acid like aluminum and corn starch so it doesn’t clump. The last 2 ingredients are undesirable. The corn starch will be modified corn starch if it is not an organic product station g organic corn starch. I make my own baking powder with 2 ingredients: baking powder and cream of tartar that I purchase at my local health food store. Or you can purchase aluminum-free baking powder, but it still has corn starch. My favorite use of baking soda is in my sourdough bread. I use 1 tsp in a loaf. It takes the sour taste away leaving a nice, rich whole grain flavor.

I put it in a bowl with some vinegar, to make a paste, then I preheat the oven up to 100° then I turn it off and put all the paste on the bottom, on the walls, anywhere. I leave it like this for a few hours, or even a might lung, and then I take all away with a wet sponge. It takes away ANYTHING. And it's not poisonous like those chemical oven cleansers!

Actually, everything material in the universe is chemical of some kind. Baking soda is also a chemical. It is sodium, carbon, and oxygen. Sodium bicarbonate. And anything from a tree will also be a chemical.
@isyframe
@isyframe 3 жыл бұрын
@@quagapp you are actually right. We all have this kind of bias that let's us think that something stinky and coming from an industry is chemical, but a tree just like any other thing has thousands of chemical processes. And (another bias) we tend to think that a plant is "natural" and not dangerous, which is not.
@quagapp

@@isyframe Yes. Plastic is an organic chemical, water is inorganic and so on. But I watched the KZbins, myself and my son, Dad and son in Kiwi land, and used 1 part baking soda and 1 of detergent and a spot of vinegar and used it to clean the stove top. Before that I had been struggling with everything. I was spitting* on it, using a knife and so on, on the enamel top. But the baking soda worked well. I also buy basic tooth paste that is mainly baking soda! I use either baking powder or soda with water for indigestion some times. But re industrial chemicals they are a problem. Our waters in Auckland are polluted partly by industry and the rest is poor management of storm water which allows human waste so people are urged not to swim or fish where, in the 50s, we used to get white bait, buy it on wharf and my mother would make white bait fritters. That is all gone. I see a lot of people on this. I believe in cleaning now. I started cleaning away all dishes and putting the rack up and wiping water etc away and there are fewer cockroaches. We men get lazy, have to keep on to these things! *Spit should have ptyalin, an enzyme in it, it can break some things down. I studied Chem and Biology at school many years ago. Certainly baking soda is safer than some of the concentrated chlorine cleaners, and baking soda is a more "friendly" chemical! All the best, Richard.

@@doxiedonna Start with a couple of tablespoons and maybe that much or more Baking soda. If it doesn't really bubble up, use more of either. I don't measure, just dump it in. You will see the brown gunk churning around. When it quits bubbling, dump it out. If it isn't clean, do another batch. My brother did this on his badly stained stainless mug and figures his cup holds at least 2 ounces more of tea.
