Exactly: books are so great that merely looking at them and turning them over is amazing: the premise of this channel

I’m really intrigued by that idea of an album’s thesis statement being its second-to-last track. “Bending Hectic” from The Smile‘s new album comes to mind. I’m gonna have to revisit all my favorite albums now.

Yeah! It's not an objective truth, but it's an intriguing idea. It's fun to view one's favorite albums through that framework and see what it reveals.

The lottery of Babylon opened up the possibility of writing for me, that and some of Kafka's parables: "we are digging the pit of Babel". I read them very early on. :)

As of this comment I don't think I've read either of those things! What book were the Kafka parables in?

Hmm I found a really good book in a thrift store with the title "The complete stories and parables." Its cheap and, well I obviously think it's worth a go :).

I love your homemade index - do you make many of those?
@leafyconcern4 ай бұрын
When the situation requires it, yes. And I have plans to get more rigorous at indexing. I want to do an actual index at the end where I track all the themes, characters and objects and list the pages they appear on. Sounds tedious, but for me that would be a good fun thorough read of a book. If I did that it would feel like I had an extremely strong foundation with a book and actually knew “what is in it”
