John Clark (Willem Dafoe), a seasoned CIA operative known for his unconventional methods, recognizes the exceptional skills of Domingo Chavez (Raymond Cruz) and sees him as a perfect fit for the covert team he's assembling. Chavez, a skilled marksman with a background in special operations, is approached by Clark for the crucial role of team sniper. This recruitment marks a pivotal moment in the formation of Clark's elite unit, setting the stage for high-stakes operations that will push the team to their limits. The dynamic between Clark and Chavez adds a layer of tension and expertise to the unfolding events, promising precision and lethality in their upcoming missions.

"Clear and Present Danger" follows Jack Ryan (Harrison Ford), a CIA analyst thrust into a complex web of political intrigue and covert operations. When his mentor is appointed as Acting Deputy Director of Intelligence, Ryan is promoted to his former position, only to uncover a secret war being waged against a Colombian drug cartel. As Ryan delves deeper, he discovers that the operation, authorized by the U.S. President without Congressional approval, involves illegal activities and puts American troops in danger. With the help of John Clark and his team, including sniper Domingo Chavez, Ryan races against time to expose the truth and rescue the soldiers left behind enemy lines. The film explores themes of political corruption, loyalty, and the moral ambiguities of foreign intervention, all while delivering intense action sequences and a gripping narrative that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats.

Love this scene, and it while it shows how 'sneaky' a Sniper can be, it would also be breaking two Cardinal Rules of being a Sniper. (A) Maintain Ballistic Advantage - staying far enough away the other guy can't easily shoot you, while you still are in range to effectively engage targets, and (B) Never Leave a Trace - which is hammered home to use in Sniper School, not even a footprint if you can help it, definitely NOT a cheeseburger wrapper. How cool. I fired a Remington Model 700 ( M24) on the Ft. Hunter Liggett range. I was a combat lifesaver supporting a sniper team while they practiced. Since I volunteered to use my own time they let me shoot. I actually hit the target three out of three times from 600 yards. It was more of the rifle than me.

I love this movie and I know there are sniper this good, but this is NOT how it works. You would never, EVER fire live ammo toward people. the reasons should be clear to anyone other than a screen writer. In real life, they use blanks and people watching see if they can spot them. So, this scene without the live rounds would be accurate. I've seen them do this at the Sniper School at Ft Benning... The chain of command would also have no idea if he calls people or writes them
