What is the best month and day to fishing yellow bass there?

In my opinion the early months can be insanely good fishing. Like Jan, Feb, March, but a lot of folks love June, July

I never understood the desire for clean water? I get it for sight fishing but I’ve never found the algae to affect the bite unless it’s dead from low dissolved oxygen.

Believe it or not. Clean water has a lot of added benefits for fish. They ability for the grass to grow is one of the major benefits with grass comes higher oxygen. Even though many areas still have a good amount of dissolved oxygen for survival with the algae. The forage and the bass know where to find better dissolved oxygen levels and will live in those areas all summer long

Also. Many areas tend to start the morning with low amounts of algae but will bloom more throughout the day. Which makes many people believe the algae doesn’t effect them but in reality the morning time frame allows the grass photosyntheize then once the bloom blocks out most of the light the dissolved oxygen will deplete the which I believe results in the fish pulling off deeper during the summer months. It’s all about oxygen not necessarily heat

@@livefastmovementoutdoors8310 for sure, I was more responding to fish and visibility. A lot of times the water is actually pretty clear under the blooms, most don’t realize this. I’ve seen so many people avoid fishing areas with blooms and I just sit there and catch fish. Idk I’ve fished CL and lived here for a very long time and don’t really let the algae get to me anymore. I embrace the green🤣, plus it keeps the jet skis and wake boats away😁

@@db9818 yep I agree the fish don’t mind at all as long as they have O2 🤘

@@livefastmovementoutdoors8310 algae/bacteria blooms are super complex and diverse especially in Clear Lake it’s a very interesting study that I am not an expert at. I am very curious as to the literal disappearance of vegetation in the lake the last few years. I’ve seen it do this a little in the past but not to the extent of last year and looking like possibly this year too.
