Thank you for the video Ross, we all appreciate it. The Yak A Bass event is an open launch and will run for 36 hours straight starting on Friday. Also, on September 23rd there is another kayak event for the food and allergy fundraiser tournament which is a single launch out of Braitos Marina., I believe it is 6am launch. Thank you for the weekly updates.

Thanks for the report. I am coming up Thursday until Sunday 14th through 17th. The first time I have been there in several years. During your report you didn't say what you were catching them on. Looks like the weather will be warm, but not too hot. Thanks again.

Thanks for another update Ross! Greg Blanchard is always in these Yak-A-Bass tournaments so we’ll see if comes up. And happy the summer cooperated and now the fishing is better. Great to hear!

I grew up on Clearlake actually on the East Lakeside I remember when you could see 20 feet down into that Lake

Hey Ross thanks for the update. Been over to Keeling area lately? Any grass or barren like the South bank? I haven’t been over there since early June.

The parts of that shoreline I have fished have sparse weeds but certainly not like years past.

Question are crappies eating? We got airbnb in clearlake on the 22 an was wondering whats eating out there.

I have not heard of anyone catching crappie since Spring. Down in that area you may pick up a bass or two but the cats should be active.

New owner to the area, is the algae year round towards the lower area of the lake?

Welcome Charles. The algae phenomenon is for the most part a summer thing. Depending on wind and air temperature. Because the most common winds blow from West to East and North to South the algae does build up to heavier concentrations on the two lower ends of the lake.

Yak a Bass will be low key, it’s an open launch and lasts from 5am Sat-3pm Sun so day and night. Friday 15th is the Lakeport bait tackle kayak tourn.

Where can I find info for any kayak tourneys here? Are any of the ramps better for kayak launching? Thank you!

@@sporkcrx TourneyX and Fishing Chaos has most of the tournaments, TourneyX is used most. Upcoming kayak tourn. Are Lakeport Bait and Tackle 15th, Yak A Bass 16-17, and a charity Food Allergy event out of Braito’s on the 23rd. None of these need membership and will be good tournaments. Any launch is good if there’s fish lol, but I decide mostly based on wind.
