Sorry for the late reply. Yeah, this national park is arguably the prettiest place in the province of Saskatchewan.

Thank you for sharing this. I found your videos last fall, and they absolutely sustained me through the winter. In a loud world, your videos are such a welcome reprieve. Again, thank you.

I've got to hand it to you. You have put together a video that is well worth watching and clearly shows the reasons why it's good to get out there. Paddling is my passion. I look forward to next season. Thank EH!

Nice relaxing vid... Nice to see some Saskatchewan water again. Back in the 70's I lived in Saskatchewan and canoed the Churchill around Otter Rapids for a number of years. Great Province and Great River. Thanks for posting this....

A beautiful film which was mesmerising to watch. Coming from the UK I envy you those wide open and remote rivers. This is a 5 star film ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thanks for the great rating! Remote waterways we do have plenty of. This province of Canada has roughly 100,000 lakes!

on one hand, i hate to put any emphasis on gear. but on the other hand i just wanna say i love your style with all the muted colors. most modern gear is so bright and out of place in the wild. love your vids
@GRSRiverrider

I agree, modern bright hiking gear just doesn't fit the atmosphere of the outdoors. If I got lost though I'm sure I'd be wishing I had a bright piece of clothing. Just can't bring myself to wear that stuff. Thanks for watching.

You have a good eye for "style" and by that I'm not talking about the cut of your jeans but rather the way you film and edit your videos. I like how you set the camera ahead of you frequently and then paddle/potage through the frame. I need to try this in my videos. I did it once as I peddled a bicycle past the iPhone in my hunting video but it didn't look as good as your material. You are obviously using a lot higher quality cameras than I now posses but that may change soon if I sell a kidney as planned (joke). Also the more intense music near the end of this video with the faster paced footage of you paddling past the shoreline was pretty cool (though the slower clips with the eery music or guitar picking are great too). I just posted a Halloween themed canoeing video yesterday and reference your channel at about the 49 minute mark. There's not many people watching my videos but maybe I can send a few your way. Cheers.

When I place the camera for those "drive by's" I'm usually paddling up to and attaching the camera to a fallen tree or branch. In this video the GoPro that was used to film this had a gorillapod tripod that I could wrap the legs around a branch. As for the music, I think I know which tune you're talking about and I've debated using that one over in future videos. I like the build up. Thanks for the nice comment!
@CanoeingTheEdgeOfTheWorld
@CanoeingTheEdgeOfTheWorld 5 жыл бұрын
@@GRSRiverrider Since the music you are using is instrumental and not easily recognizable I'm sure you could get away with using the same composition on other videos. Plus you have published quite a few videos so I'd be surprised if anyone noticed you'd used a tune twice. If you had 4-5 videos and used the same song in each it would be noticed. There's an artist named "Bassnectar" who's music might fit your videos. I was thinking about using some of his stuff in my videos. Great videos!

Could tell me the make and model of the knife you were using st camp?
@GRSRiverrider
@GRSRiverrider 7 жыл бұрын
Sure. It's an ESEE-6. It's my wood processing knife for camping when I bring the big axe. When I take the hunting axe you see in this video the knife becomes redundant. I like this knife and was willing to carry it.

I don't know why people feel inclined to complain about the music or the lack of talking, if it's not their style of video, that's their loss! Nobody needs their unpopular opinions. Some people like a lot of talking, some want no talking, some don't like music, I often get bored without music.
@GRSRiverrider
@GRSRiverrider 3 жыл бұрын
I've received a few comments like that. I like a large variety of music styles, but I don't think the styles I choose are tolerable to some. I watched this video without music several times when I did the editing and it just didn't feel as good to watch without. Thanks for watching!

@@GRSRiverrider this is just my preference, but I find that when the music stops or starts, the contrast between music and none keeps my attention.

I can see in the frame there is a PFD in the boat, but what good does that do you? Alone out in the wilderness, what happens when things go wrong and you end up in the water? I’ll never understand why people choose to not do the simplest, common sense things to protect themselves. “Good swimmers” drown all the time.

@@GRSRiverrider I actually would respectively disagree with the above comment. The silent format with the mysterious music is what makes your videos stand out. KZbin has enough "experts" jabbering on and on about various subjects. Your videos are unique. Don't change a thing.
