I'm a sewist, but I feel like bag making is a foreign language. I really appreciate your beginner friendly videos. I would love to learn more about bag making notions and tools.

I can not stand how cute this bag is. I like the idea about the jelly vinyl and the sticky binding, which I think helps keep the binding in place. I'm doing this bag. Among all the other bags I've got cut to make. ❤❤❤❤

Could you do a vinyl patterned pouch where TVC are pretty side to pretty side? I’m having that tension issue where the bottom stitches are very loopy but I’ll try what you suggested by increasing the tension. I’ve bought from vinyl (clear tvc with a pattern) from different vendors and my domestic machine is having that tension issue.

Could you use cotton fabric and fuse two pieces together so you have a front and back to make this bag.?

Hi Jess, love love all your tutorials and I have your boxy bag and snack bag templates! Wondering if you will do a tutorial on the zabelia triple zip bag from blue calla. It would be great if you will as it is a cute bag. Thanks

This is so cute! As well as a TON of clear/jelly vinyl I have some really thin vinyl too and tempted to try HTV on the back as a "lining"

Can someone help me? I bought jelly vinyl from Wonderground Fabrics. Love it BUT my sewing machine doesn’t . The bottom thread is very loose and loopy. I used a microtex 70 and tried an 80. No better. I changed my tension. No better. I changed machines. No Better, I love this vinyl but it doesn’t love me. I used my Teflon foot - it isn’t sticking to my machine. Ant suggestions?
@lauramaskell49868 ай бұрын
Try a super universal needle - they're black & non stick! Absolute game changer for clear and jelly vinyl. I used a 110 as the stuff I had was pretty thick. I think I also had to adjust my top tension but I can't remember which way 🙈. And definitely a Teflon foot.

When using a directional print vinyl do you need to increase the size of the main pattern piece(s) to allow for the seam allowance?
@leenek11 ай бұрын
There are separate pattern pieces if using directional fabric 😊
