Should use some of that old wisteria and small trees and put it width wise over the roads. That would give you something to walk and drive on instead of mud and muddy ruts.

Idea...for small to medium size yard waste, use a piece of tin as a "sled" to load on a bunch and the pull it to the burn site or disposal site. More efficient, less work. Just a thought. I love your videos. Thanks.

Grandpa always said, it's always good to have good friends to help you do hard work. Too bad you can't use a flamethrower to burn all that Wisteria since there's so much of it, it sure would make the job a lot easier. If it was me doing that I'd get a bulldozer, there's just too much of it to clear out. Keep up the good work, it's going to look great when you're finished.

This is a historic entrance to the property, you told another. Then the road has been there a long while. Where was the rest of the original property? If this land was that owned by his mother and his grandfather, there originally would be much more to it. This is the first time I've seen the frontage to the road. Goodness. It's so wild. Piece by piece, Robert. You'll get there.

So how do you kill wisteria once it’s gotten out of control? Getting rid of wisteria can be tricky but there are some things you can try. You could start by hand pulling or digging up any young sprouts. Cut the wisteria to the ground to prevent it from resprouting. Be sure to bag up and dispose of all wisteria branches (and seed pods) to eliminate the chance of new sprouts popping up somewhere else. Then, use a specially formulated herbicide such as a non-selective type, for getting rid of wisteria for good. Paint or apply the herbicide directly to the stump. If, over time, you notice any new sprouts, you may want to re-treat them. Only spray the foliage as a last resort to ensure the safety of other nearby plants. Alternatively, some people choose to place the leaves or as much of the vine tip as possible in herbicide solution for about 48 hours before cutting and removing the wisteria vine. Keep in mind that while most herbicides are designated for particular plants without harming surrounding areas, you should always use caution when using them. Follow directions carefully for the proper application. Herbicides for getting rid of wisteria are best used in late summer or fall. However, winter is probably the easiest time for wisteria removal. As long as you know how to control wisteria with regular pruning, you shouldn’t have too many problems. However, if your wisteria has become overgrown or if you simply don’t want it, then getting rid of wisteria may be your only alternative, cutting it down and soaking what’s left in a suitable herbicide. Read more at Gardening Know How: Controlling Or Getting Rid Of Wisteria www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/vines/wisteria/controlling-or-getting-rid-of-wisteria.htm

The tree trunk that they are cutting up with the chainsaw for fence posts is probably from an eastern red cedar. The cedars that we have in this part of North America ( Eastern Ontario ) are eastern white cedars.

If you had a blade on the front of the tractor, could you scrape all of that topsoil off of your driveways down to the clay, then spread the big rock gravel down to form a good base for the smaller driveway gravel. I think I've commented before on adding charcoal to your soil to improve it for the desirable plants you want to keep, or adding new ones. When I saw those punky old logs you're hauling in this video (not to mention rotten old house boards) ,I instantly reminded of biochar experts saying they got best results from making charcoal (not ash!) out of punky rotten wood. Immediately after I watched this, I came across a video by David, who lives now in Alabama, explaining his latest experiment with biochar/terra preta, first found in the Amazon. Your brush piles can have a really great purpose - I urge you to use rotten wood and brush for this on your land in areas where the soil needs help. The job doesn't have to be this elaborate. The deep trench is to help smother lower layers of charcoal before it completely goes to ash. David adds an amazing amount of seriously great soil improvements in his video, but it doesn't have to be fancy. I just throw lump charcoal left from our barbecues into my compost. Clay and potsherds that David added aren't necessary, they just help the charcoal pick up and retain nutrients in a sandy soil. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ep-3koqfhJp4qdE
