some of that oak would make great firewood after a year of seasoning. I yall are gunna have a wood furnace or wood stove stack it up off the ground (maybe on some old pallets) and put a loose cover over it. LOTS of BTUs in that oak. The grounds look great, s o excited to see the place develop toward your dream.

A good idea, but that would be counter-productive. The next big thing is to outfit the barn with the fixins, so they'd be moving it all in and out, in and out again. Stall gates, hardware on everything, the loft, etc.

Here in uk people drill holes in the tree stumps and tip fuel into them then burn them, it burns it down and some roots, dont know if thats any good for you there, love watching you two xx

Jason if you get a metal barrel cut both ends out of it. You can place over the stump and use all the limbs from the tree to burn the stump up. Dig at least three holes around the base a shovel worth of dirt from under the barrel for air. It will act as a chimney and burn the stump out at least 6 inches or more down in the ground. Supper easy gets rid of stumps and limbs all at once . More barrels equals faster stump removal as well. Great job your farm is looking great .

That's exactly how we cleared our land 20yrs ago - without a tractor. We cut down all the mesquite trees, cut the trunks up for fire wood then burned the tree tops in metal barrels over the tree stumps. After 20yrs, they have not grown back. Great Job on the clearing job!
