Fields are shaping up! Like the before and after pictures, you really get a sense of what is changing. It’s always a good feeling when you get the green light on a construction project.

Field looks good! It's pretty satisfying to transform an overgrown area into something useable. And yes, a leaf blower has become standard equipment to carry along when doing weedy fields. Almost blew my tractor motor up once by not paying attention to the build up and the temp gauges!

Seems like you are learning a lot and figuring it out. Brush hogging is something you have to experience and learn in order to be comfortable with how fast you can go and what you can mow over. that being said, with what you are mowing, you should be able to mow faster than you are and hopefully make better use of your rental time. just a suggestion! Enjoying catching up on your videos as I just found your channel. Glad to see your videos are so successful! keep up the good work.

Thanks! I thought I could go faster too but in order to keep the RPM's up and the mower from bogging down I had to go slow. When I would go into second gear (even second low) it would just not keep up.

@@TriStarHomestead I noticed that on your first brush hogging video as you were just starting to mow for the first time. Seemed like the tractor wasn't keeping up. That seems unusual to me - could be that tractor has an issue or is underpowered for that particular mower. The only thing that's ever slowed me down with my small tractor and 5' brush cutter was SUPER tall and thick fescue. The stuff like you are mowing shouldn't be a problem - I mow a lot of similar terrain and vegetation with mine. Sometimes rental units are beat up and worn out, but it's hard to say without me being there in person. The important thing is that you are making great progress and out there improving your land! Keep up the good work!

The mower was brand new and looked like I might have been the first rental. The tractor on the other hand...... not so much. I'm thinking underpowered or just beat on. Got the job done nonetheless. Thanks for the support!

Hate those fuel spouts. I use a battery powered fuel transfer pump.

Was that a Christmas tree farm a lot of little evergreens?

It was not. Those are eastern red cedars not pine trees. They just sprout up like crazy and are really invasive. This all used to be pasture back in the day as it was an old dairy farm.

Yeah it’s not great to run out of diesel but the gauge didn’t work so what can you do. It fired right up and ran fine after so no harm no foul.
