I would like to Thank You for this video. Our pool has been cloudy for 2 weeks. Our local pool guys said run it 24/7, vacuum and backwash. Not once did they say to put the filter on waste and vacuum out the particals on the bottom. I vacuumed the whole pool and I was surprised that I didn't have a lot of water loss. The water is clear today! Thanks Again.

My pool is still cloudy. It is fine in the morning, but once I put the vacuum in the pool, it goes totally cloudy! I have been vacuuming and scrubbing walls every other day, but they aren't even dirty. Today when I vacuumed I sent the waste water out of the pool rather than through my cartridge filter. I lost a lot of water, but I am desperate! I also have a stocking on my water return to catch whatever is missed by the filter... and even then when I went close and touched it, there was cloudy stuff coming out of it. Do I need to just drain and refill? Is it my filter; which has a cracked impeller (pump is so loud so i pened it up and saw)? Do I need chemicals? Within the past week, I have already shocked, clarified, and non-chlorine shocked. I clean the cartridge filter 2 - 3 times per day. I have vacuumed, and cleaned walls daily too. We have only had water in it for about 4 weeks. Today my readings were low in free chlorine (1) and ph (6.8). I am afraid to add any chemicals at this point so I just allowed more chlorine to come out of the floating duckie chlorinator (4 holes instead of 2). Chad, I would LOVE and APPRECIATE anything you can suggest at this point. Please! My children and I would really appreciate it!! Signed, Feeling Helpless😫

This is the best video I have seen. The videos I watch before said if your filter is putting sand back in pool you need to change the sand out. So after change the sand I went to vaccuum all the debris off the bottom of the pool! I start vacuuming and with in a few minutes the pool is turning brown again! Now I know it because it to fine to go throughthe filter. I put PH down and clarify in the pool. So we will wait till tomorrow and see what happens.

Got up one morning and my pool was a light green and cloudy. Went to our local pool store and got Pro Guard Copper Algicide, 15 lbs of Burnout shock, 15 lbs of balance Pak 100. Put all that in and run the pump all night. Next morning put in ProTeam Polyquat 30 2oz pool was still light green and very cloudy. Went back to the pool store and had the water tested again. Water was perfect both times except the ph was a little high the second water testing. So put in lo'n slo ph decreaser, 5 bags of Yellow treatment, and 5 lbs of shock. Got up this morning and the water is blue finally but very cloudy. You can see the bottom if you look really hard so I am just going to let it filter again tonight and pray that it is clear in the morning. I may vacuum tomorrow evening after work and see if that helps. And if it is still cloudy I will try the Super Blue Clarifier. Thanks for your videos they are really informative.

Thank you for this video! I had my pool crystal clear, then I went on vacation. I came back to an algae bloom. Lovely. I got my water blue again, but no matter what I tried, I couldn't get it clear. It was cloudy. My pH was good, and chlorine was nominal. I used a whole bottle of liquid super clarifier to no effect. I had two boxes of HTH Super Green to Blue, but since my pool was no longer green, I hesitated to use it. My mistake for a solid week. Upon watching this video, I had been keeping my pool pump running 24/7, but the filter didn't increase in pressure. I didn't bother to backwash twice daily. When I saw the part about using a floc, I decided to read all the ingredients to my HTH boxes. THE SECOND TREATMENT BAG WAS FLOC! I have a 30k gallon above ground pool, so I needed one and a half boxes for a full treatment. BOOM! Clear water in less than 12 hours. Yellow bottom, but worth it. You were not kidding, though, when you said to take it slowly when cleaning. I did that and had to refill my pool twice as the vacuum got down to my skimmer line and lost suction. Needless to say, all the yellow is gone, and we once again have a beautiful pool. Thanks again for such wonderful, useful, and precise information! It is a true blessing that you offer it for free.
@taketime06266 жыл бұрын
Tom LaGesse thank you! I was also wondering if my 2nd step bag was floc!!!! Lol. I had a box that had two treatments. I did the first round after we came back from vacation to a brown pool. I was reluctant to doing another treatment with the stuff because I too, was left with a VERY cloudy blue pool. I’ve been watching all kinds of videos for over a week now. (Mostly because when the pool pump burned up we decided to upgrade to a sand filter so I had a lot to learn. Lol). Also because it is the end of the season here in PA I couldn’t find most of the stuff I wanted and needed. Going crazy to find some floc. And now I know I have a bag of it right in my garage. Lol 👍👍👍👍.

my pool went green, my own fault. It has happened before and I have gotten it under control. Once I have got all my chemicals correct and used Algacide I could floc and then vacuum to waste and have a beautiful clear pool again. This year the cloudiness wont disappear. I went to the pool place to get my water tested. My cyanuric acid is 3 times what it should be. Emptying the pool is not an option. Would this be contributing to the cloudiness? My chemical levels are fine, I changed the sand in my pool filter today and will run it 24-48 hours straight and see if this make a difference. My pressure in my sand filter has improved so I am hoping this might help. I can't understand why the floc did not work, I used liquid floc twice and did not run the filter at all for 4 days. Any suggestions you have would be appreciated. I love your explanations on videos but this has me stumped.

Hi Mark, I've been working on trying to clear my cloudy pool for the last two weeks now. My PH is always good to a little low. It has been between 7.2 and 7.6 for the last 2 weeks. I've tried to floc twice and nothing dropped to the bottom. I've also tried to shock and nothing has happened. I've backwashed my pool twice a day for 4 days in a row with no change. I also tried an algaecide even though it was never green, as a last resort. It's a 7000 gallon pool with a 1 hp pump running on high and an 18 filter using filter balls. I've also pulled and washed my filter balls 3 times. O and started using a skimmer basket filter sock for the last 3 days and nothing has changed. It looks like a have a big pool of Vitamin D Milk. Also I'll note I used 2 different test strip and a drop test to test my Chlorine and PH to make sure it wasn't a strip issue. Any ideas of where to go next?

Omg I have never had sonmuch trouble with a above ground pool as I have with this InTEX pool this year. I have had an awful cloudy pool ever since I set it up in May. I do not know if it’s an Algae issue or what?? Testing the water will indicate high ph one day than than the next it’s good and the total alkalinity is low? I have used an algicide, I have used a water clarifier, I have shocked the pool numerous times I vacuum it than it looks worse than it did before I vacuumed, it does not matter what I try, I backwash the sand pump every day and I just cannot get this pool clear much less to a crystal clear Looking pool. I honestly don’t know what has happened or what is causing it I do have a pecan tree hanging over the pool could this be residue from that tree this year it’s never been an issue in the past. Is it an actual algae problem whatever it is I cannot get this pool clean. Please is anyone out there experiencing the same issues in trying to clean and get their pool clear please let me know what your thoughts are. Suggestions welcome.
@kdkd6934 жыл бұрын
TinaMarie Lombrana-Thompson get the balance chemicals right first. Sounds like your alkalinity too low if pH fluctuating. Once that s achieved, then shock the pool with 12ppm chlorine circulate and then hold still overnight for the debris to form and settle on the bottom. Vacuum next morning to drain. Then circulate with filter for 24 hours If not clear, shock again and this time add floc, over night settle and vacuum in the morning.
@nathansmith76533 жыл бұрын
I have an algae problem that I haven't been able to get rid of adding shock and algacide didn't help. So what I'm thinking about doing is drawing the pool and cleaning the algae up. Can I leave the pool empty over the winter and fill it next summer? Or would the cold wreck the liner with it exposed and not having water in it?

My pool seems to constantly have white powder on the bottom. At first I thought it was the grout that I had brushed out but still 4 wks after the brushing every 3-5 days I find like a white powdery substance on the bottom of the pool. Ph is 7.2, Cl is 3 and pool stays milky white/cloudy. I guess only the floc will help me in this case?

Hello! We just bought a house that has a 33ft above ground. It stayed open all winter, so very green. Iv gone to the pool store so many times. Then my brother in law who owns a pool said to flock it. So I did that, it got clear, then I vacuumed everything out and everything was looking great! Now today, we went away for a three day trip, came back to a cloudy, shiny blue water. Took a sample to the pool store, they said everything looked good other than I needed more chlorine. I cleaned my filter last night, added three gallons of shock ( this is what they told me to do ) then ran it on circulate for two hours. Put it back on filter and went to bed. Went out this morning and the water is still blue but its even more cloudy. What do I need to do? The local store has yet to be able to help me clear the pool.

If you're having an issue with the water of the pool you can do that and it helps pick up the smaller particles but I wouldn't do it on a day-to-day basis

I only have a skimmer filter pump that came with my summer wave ABG pool- will that work if I disconnect the hose that pushes water back into the pool and just let it drain out while I'm vacuuming it up? I know I will loose a lot of water but I will keep water hose running to keep water at level.

I don't use a vacuum. I have a Kreepy Kraully to clean the pool. Can I still use the flocking method and use the Kreepy afterword to clean the bottom?

Honestly I think the automatic cleaner is just going to Stir It Up so much that you're going to have to flock for five times to get it all out.

My pool is cloudy because of thin dust... when it's stopped between days, the thin dust can be seen in some parts of the bottom and (appart from that) the water is clear, but once the pump starts filtering, the dust comes to the surface as gets mixed with all the watter, which ten becomes cloudy. I did everything and it simply doesn't disappear: corrected ph and alcalinity, put flocculant, filtered the pool for more than 24 hours, etc, but it simply doesn't go away. It's also impossible to vaccum: it's very thin, so everytime the motion of the vacum has the same effect (thin dust ascends and is mixed with all the water). Help! How can I fix this? Many tks!

I'm having problems still I'm not sure why all my chemicals and eveything are reading correctly I've tried all your steps and I can't get the cloudiness out of my pool it's been almost a month now. How do you know if your filter is bad? It's a 2 yr old sand filter.. Thank you for your videos you are the best out of all I've watched!
