Bad restore. Just another guy with a grinder that doesn't know what he is doing and is too lazy to go research the million videos of people who do know how to restore stuff. You didn't restore it. You ground away a ton of metal and softened the blade in the process. Didn't you even notice the scorch marks? Also when you pound metal make sure it is glowing hot or you can create microfractures in the metal. You also used like 30 times the oil needed?

Wow! You did all that with simple tools. That is as good, as the best ones I've seen. That blade was ROUGH. Now it's a smooth mirror. Of course cut one moist, acidic fruit, vegetable, or meat, thing, and the blade will discolor. What kind of wood was that? Walnut? Really nice job.
