Any doctor will tell you it's an indicator of your physical and mental abilities this year vs. last year vs. a decade ago. Before you rant consider the following by no means complete list of forced retirement at 65 years old. .... Military and commercial pilots must surrender their professional licenses at 65. ..... Air traffic controllers must retire at 65 ..... Railroad engineers must retire at 65 ..... Ships Captains must surrender their licenses over a certain tonnage at 65 ..... Bar pilots (people who guide ships into port) must retire at 65 ..... Doctors can no longer get malpractice insurance past 65 so almost all retire. .....Many states have additional licensing requirements for those over 65. Mine requires written tests every two years (instead of 5 years) and behind the wheel every five years. * All federal law enforcement agents must retire or leave the field at 55 (yes, Fifty Five) Outside of long haul trucker just about any job you can think of that an error could cost lives or cause catastrophic financial loss (like taking out half the 500 field) you're out of business at 65 years old. I'm very sure the major teams had pointed out the additional risk Mike Wallace presented. Reply

Love Cleetus and I know he will give it his all because he does in everything and this is one of his dreams. NASCAR has a dozens of legitimate reasons to regulate ALL of the footage generated on their properties and under their brand banner. Nobody wants to see every second of Cleeter Cam footage more than me, but I completely understand the legal and financial stance against it from NASCAR. But Garrett did have Cleetus McFarland on his race car above the window net in the ARCA test. Not sure why NASCAR would even consider not approving him unless he wrecked during the test, Garrett goes 200+mph in his drag cars at most all events keeping them straight between the walls! & he set a speed record of 233+mph in the World Cup Finals in 2023. Last thing Garrett would do is anything stupid with a young family, 2 small kids & all his business's he invested in, if he feels something is over his head he won't do it till he's ready. If he does really well in the ARCA race, you could possible see him in an Xfinity car at the 2nd Daytona race or maybe another ARCA run later in the year possibly Talladega. His 2027 timeline may get moved up if he wins a race or 2! It would definitely shock the NASCAR world if he won the ARCA race in his 1st try, it all depends how good his car & team will be on race day!

@ He failed to qualify in a crate late model race, at his own race track. ARCA and NASCAR are full of drivers that cut their teeth racing in various divisions racing around the country, weekly their entire lives. If he were serious, he should have spent last year racing weekly in a late model. And even then, that would still be an uphill battle. So it's possible that the wrap on the race day car will say Garrett Mitchell instead. That being said, unless there is some rule I am not aware of.
