Maru has insane APM, but even *IF* Clem were fAsTeR, APM alone does not a champion make. •• It's what you achieve with that speed that matters. Maru has better decision making, army movement/composition and is certain and decisive with his micro. No one cares about your 900 APM IF through all your camera flickering you're taking bad fights, forgetting tanks and depots and then ultimately trying to doom drop your opponent at 12 mins cos 'YOLO'. Maru is ELEGANT and EFFICIENT with his APM. He knows he doesn't need more. His game sense is from his experience.

No clem is not mechanically better than maru. The reason clem "beat the shit out of that reaper" is because clems reaper was fortunate enough to get the first shot off when standing idle...this is almost always the deciding factor in reaper battles.

I feel like casters are super bias to the foreign players. They always hype up Clem as "best micro Terran" but Maru consistently out-micros him while clearly beating him in strategy too. Maru has injuries sure but Maru on a normal day beats Clem every time, and he proves that basically every time they're matched together. Same with Serral. Casters hype him up as the best Zerg and how Rogue is sloppy or some nonsense and then Rogue absolutely dumpsters him. Serral and Clem are top players but it's silly to put them over Rogue or Maru (or Dark!) when you basically know who wins those matchups every time.

Wardii is the worst when it comes to hyping up / riding on Clem. He is pro foreign player in general, but especially pro Clem for some reason.

Considering most of the SC2 active casters are from EU/Western region, its obviously they gonna be bias toward EU players like Clem and Serral. I think Rotti is the most objective one, and call himself out whenever he is bias toward some player.

Both Clem and Maru are world class players but one is a GOAT. Congrats to both on the great match but I have to recognize Maru’s heroic fight. Maru is simply a cut above the best.

Massive build time and building positioning spot. These are the kinds of stuff that often go overlooked and might decide games and even serieses. Thanks for sharing it; this leaves in evidence that, while being a micro and agressive beast, these kinds of macro mistakes might be quite an aspect of his game that prevents him from really bursting into his full potential. I've noticed more of those watching his first person camera. He really has to do something about it but good news is that, if he does, he'll get to a crazy high level.

Maru has spent more time playing at world-class level than Clem has been pro. Clem will get there some day (probably), but you can see the difference in experience here.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but at @10:20 how does Clem spot the Widow Mine? Isn't it hidden when burrowed?

I think Clem doesn't actually sees the widow mine itself. When his unit went in the range of the mine, he can see a white line coming out of the ground that attaches to your unit.

You can still see the 'divet' in the ground. Much like you can see the shimmer of a DT/Observer/Banshees. Your units can't target it, but you can definitely subtly see the mine-splotch on the ground Plus yes, you can see the targeting line for a moment before it fires

Goat means greatest of all time. You can’t base someone’s whole career off of a few poor moments. There was a time when serral was undeniably the best anyone has seen, stomping everyone he played against. Yes Maru is amazing but he hasn’t even achieve world champion before. The top 3 ever would be rogue Maru and serral. All different play styles.

@@christran9341 Maru has been a top 4 terran since 2012. Serral had an incredible year against an EU scene who were just a level beneath him in skill when zerg were really strong. Not saying he isn't fucking insane cos he is but I'm not sure if he's #1 or #2. I personally think it's Maru but there's definitely a decent argument for Serral. You're nuts if you don't think it's hard to call though.
