When you’re actually running the fridge there are several metal cans that go over this stuff so that the fridge can hold high vacuum, so the cool look is pretty much only visible when you’re not actually doing things with it anyway. They could’ve probably built it uglier, but there’s no point, tons of engineering went into making these fridges as cold as possible.

Imagine you are trying to find the fastest route from your house to the city. You can take a bus or a train or a taxi. With quantum mechanics we can try all these routes at the same time (creating ghost versions of you that each try a different route. However, the one that reached the city first becomes the real you and the other one disappears. We already see quantum coherence in nature, specifically, in plants during photosynthesis. When light travels to the chlorophyll, it needs to convert photons into energy. There are a lot of different this can happen (pathways) some are better than others. The way we humans do things is try everything and only then choose the best one. Through superposition and other quantum mechanisms, all pathways are carried out simultaneously but the fastest one gets chosen.

Lightining just travels by the pricniple of a path of least resistance via ionised air, so we can see it travel realtime. Similarly to how the Japanese used the slime mold to design their train system (the slime mold finds the most efficient path to the food source). So I think that's just classical physics. If Lightning were to behave like it operates with quantum mechanics, it'd appear with a different pattern, maybe we'd see some cool interference of the superposition of charged particles acting like a wave to try to find the most efficient route, but at this point I am also talking out of my ass haha

More specifically a transistor is used to build a cpu. Classical computers have transistors. Transistors can only hold values of 1 and 0 but only one at a time. Like they can either hold one or zero not both. Quantum bits or qubits are what make up quantum computers. Qubits are able to hold a superposition of two values 1 and 0. This makes quantum computers able to solve certain problems a lot faster than classical computers but there are still limitations in which a classical computer does not have. For example, classical computers are faster and more efficient than quantum computers at solving arithmetic problems.

it is a simplified version of how a quantum computer can solve certain types of problems much faster than a classical computer. In the maze example, a classical computer would have to explore each path in the maze one by one to find the exit, which can take a long time if there are many paths to explore. However, a quantum computer could use a technique called quantum parallelism to explore all possible paths at once, which can significantly speed up the search process. Quantum parallelism is a property of qubits that allows them to exist in multiple states at the same time. In the maze example, a quantum computer could represent all possible paths as a superposition of states, and then use quantum interference to amplify the probability of finding the correct path while canceling out the probabilities of finding incorrect paths. This can lead to a much faster search process than a classical computer. It's important to note, however, that quantum parallelism is not a magic bullet that can solve all problems faster than classical computers. It only works for certain types of problems, such as optimization and search problems, and even then, it requires careful algorithm design and implementation to take advantage of the quantum parallelism. For other types of problems, such as basic arithmetic or simple logic operations, classical computers are still faster and more efficient.

It is believed that quantum computers have the potential to solve certain NP-hard problems much faster than classical computers. NP-hard problems are a class of problems that are difficult to solve using classical computers. They involve finding the best solution among a vast number of possible solutions, and the computational resources required to solve them grow exponentially with the size of the problem. Quantum computers have the potential to solve some of these problems faster than classical computers by using a technique called quantum annealing, which involves finding the lowest energy state of a physical system that represents the problem. This technique has been shown to be effective for certain types of optimization problems, such as the famous traveling salesman problem. However, it is not yet clear whether quantum computers can solve all NP-hard problems, or even a majority of them, faster than classical computers. There are still many technical challenges that need to be overcome, such as scaling up the number of qubits and reducing errors and noise in the system. even if quantum computers can solve certain NP-hard problems faster than classical computers, it is still an open question whether the speedup is significant enough to make a practical impact on real-world applications.

1.A classical computer is like a very smart calculator that can do lots of calculations very quickly. It uses tiny electronic switches called transistors to store and process information. These switches can be either "on" or "off," which represents the binary digits, or bits, that computers use to represent information. A quantum computer, on the other hand, uses tiny particles called quantum bits, or qubits, to store and process information. Unlike classical bits, which can only be either "on" or "off," qubits can exist in multiple states at the same time. This property is called superposition, and it allows quantum computers to perform many calculations at once, which is why they can be much faster than classical computers for certain tasks. Another property of qubits is called entanglement, which means that two qubits can be connected in a way that their states are always linked, no matter how far apart they are. This allows quantum computers to perform calculations that are impossible for classical computers to do. In summary, a classical computer is like a very fast calculator that uses bits to store and process information, while a quantum computer uses qubits that can exist in multiple states at the same time and can be entangled to perform calculations that classical computers cannot. 2.quantum computers are very difficult to build and operate. Qubits are very delicate and can be easily disturbed by their environment, making them hard to control and maintain. They require very careful cooling and shielding from external interference, which adds to the cost and complexity of building and operating a quantum computer. quantum computers are not good at all computing tasks. While they excel at certain types of problems, such as optimization and simulation, they are not necessarily faster than classical computers for every task. In fact, for some tasks, such as basic arithmetic or simple logic operations, classical computers are still faster and more efficient.

Instead of saying "not JUST faster" you should just say "not faster" than conventional computers. Otherwise it is borderline scam.

My doubt about quantum computer is if qbits are 1's and 0's at same time them imagine if i ask 1+1=2, true or false, and 1= true and 0 = false...... Normal computer gives 1 what will the quantum computer out put be like? True false?? I dont get it how u can calculate something with 1 amd 0 at same time, its like 2*3=? And quantim computer just lists - infinity to + infinity insterd of giving 1 ans.... Plz explain

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23) Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. (Matthew 11:28-30) I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. (Luke 13:5) For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13)

Quantum computers are over hyped, they are difficult to scale and expensive to run. They have also been completely surpassed by the Dynex neuromorphic supercomputer. Quantum computing systems have achieved Q-scores not surpassing 140, Dynex's supercomputer exceeded 15,000!!

Basically, computers navigate an area of math. Quantum computers can uncover not-before-known areas in math. A new world (Dr. Eric Selvig said this line in Avengers ... 😊)

I disagree with boat analogy. They are airplane ✈️️. For finding local/global minimum(solution) you have to go/ride step by step. Airplane can just flew and see where that's local/global minimum is. That's how it's powerful.

Quantum Computers are way so early in their evolution/development: at present, they look more like Difference Engines than Computers. If civilisation advances for another 100 years (I don't think it will), I expect Quantum Computers will look as different from how they look at present as the Difference Engine does from a modern PC.

Maybe I disagree over this analogy. From my view, If today's classical computers are faster and faster cars to explore world faster, Then quantum computers is like making your multiple copies which simultaneously can explore the world.

that's true, quantum computers aren't replacement of traditional computers, they are just better at some tasks that modern day computers can't solve, however most of the tasks that our computers do are so hard for quantum computers, and quantum computers are very slow doing them or can't do at all

What is the purpose of the architecture (physical form) of the quantum computer? (I'm mindful of the reveal of the spacecraft in Close Encounters of the Third Kind.) I'm guessing it has to do with some cold temperatures, but that's a guess...

I really the emphasis you put on this, many people (particularly in silicone valley) believe that quantum computing it's just gonna be a solution for everything when it really isn't. Quantum computing has some algorithms that reduce NP problems to P problems, but this is in itself doesn't mean every NP problem can be reduced to a P problem, nor that the reduction is useful, we can end up with a galactical algorithm that is only faster than the traditional one at HUUGE quantities that we will never need. That is not to say that QC is useless, the problems we DO know can be solved significantly faster are important problems in science and could be a significant step up for biology, medicine, physics and even some experimental math problems. It's just that QM aren't gonna be used by the general public, in reality, even with QM becoming more common, it's likely only researchers in a particular field with clear intentions will ever get to use a QM on a regular basis
