I think the Cleveland CBX4 (and two previous generations) wedges and some other cavity-backed wedges like it are great. Do not overlook them even if they might be seen as "uncool" by some folks. One of the best parts of the CBX wedges are the 3 different sole grinds (V-shaped grind only for 44/46/48/50/52 degree, S-shaped grind only for 54 and 56 degree, and C-shaped grind only for 58 and 60 degree). While the CBX4s are not for everyone, I appreciate that the *LIMITED* options for grind and bounce of the CBX4s remove the dizzying and overwhelming amount of options that can lead to "paralysis by over-analysis" when it comes to shopping for typical high-end blade wedges. (e.g. Titleist SM10 has 25 unique loft, bounce, and grind combinations! That's too many for most people to try to figure out what's best for them). And the CBX4s have cavity-back design, a gel insert, and perimeter weighting for forgiveness and ALL of the same technology of the low-handicap RTX wedges, like ZipCore, HydraZip for wet performance, and UtliZip grooves and face milling. I think it would be great for 2nd Swing to do more videos on the CBX4 wedges and similar more forgiving wedges (like Ping Glide 4, Callaway CB, Mizuno S23, etc.) with some of your mid to high handicap customers (or staff). I think it's an overlooked category of clubs that more players should consider.

If people wanted to score like a pro instead of looking like one, 99% of golf bags would look drastically different. These wedges(or other cavities) should be in the hands of almost all amateurs.

Great feedback and thanks for watching! Going to add your video ideas to our list. You're right, this is a category of wedge that could benefit a ton of golfers. Once we can get outside on the golf course here in MN we'll do some on-course testing with the CBX and similar wedges

Yet to see this club in person, but I've been hoping for a CBX-T (Tour) wedge which is basically an RTX6 with a slight cavity.. ie Mizuno MP60 iron. I like the new blunted leading edge. I'm not sure this CBX4 will convert any low cap players, but a players CB wedge I think would be a big win..

Gaming these in 52 56 &60 and noticed a difference straight away but after 3 rounds and stating to get used to them they are so good 80yds in. And will make a huge improvement to my short game

4 handicap here. This wedge (54 degree) has single handidly changed my 100yard and in game. I cannot believe how good it is.

Any chance you had the last gen zipcore? In pics the new gen looks to have a slightly smaller head and sole width

Do you find the leading edge sits too high especially for chips and pitches around the green? or is it not an an issue?

@@cjlarkin21 I dont use my 54 to hit flop shots, so the leading edge is irrelevant. I use it for full shots, and square type chipping. It also has a small ground on the front edge. If you want to hit flop shots and or manipulate the club....dont buy it, Get your traditional blade wedge.

@@cjlarkin21 I have a RTX6 zip core (58-12) for the highest loftest club in my bag.

@@MXJEFF94Thinking of getting the cbx4 for the 50 degree just for added forgiveness since I only use the 50 for full shots or knock down, but I play vokeys for my 56 and 60 for the added control and manipulation. Feel like that’d be a nice combo for me

Looks like the sand wedges moved from 12° to 14° bounce. Was the last gen a little too sharp and still a bit easy to chunk?

got the 48/52/56 of this club. love em. don't know if i'll ever go back to blade wedges that have recently tanked many of my scores.

I have a CBX2 50 degree in the bag and it’s been excellent for the standard shots I use it for. I play a sleeker head design in my 54 and 58 (Callaway Jaws) so I can open and close the face as necessary. Will be looking at the CBX4 when my current 50 wears out

Cbx2 full face (?) it’s a 12* of bounce…. CBX4 it’s 14* of bounce be careful it’s a lot of bounce in sand trap where sand is thin or grass is short, hard &. Dry….14* of bounce is too much 12* at max is more adaptable ….

Finally gave a try from Cleveland CBX full face 2 ……..to Cleveland (2024) CBX 4….oh boy! Pleasure only pleasure….hight launch + spinning and the Mamiya Recoil shafts good weight , no vibrations , very good clic sound at impact and all the difference in the world ( vs full face 2 …too light ). I was curious about thigh lies….with the 56(14) but never experience bad shots even with 14* of bounce… Finally got THE WEDGES that I was looking for . 52 (12), 56 (14), 60 (12) ErEf, Montréal, Canada

these look ping glideish?

They've been around since 2017, and I think the original Glides were 2015. Similar concepts. More forgiving but with most of the performance features of a blade style "low handicap" wedge.
